Early morning the next day, Lu NianXi got up and started getting ready.
Recalling the moments she had spent with them in the past, she felt a faint tingle in her heart. She hurried to get ready not wanting her cousin to nag at her.
As she didn't like eating much in the morning she simply made some oat cereal with yoghurt and drank some fresh juice.
After she was done eating, she checked the time in her watch. Seeing there was still some time, she got up from the dining chair and went to the bedroom.
Taking her clothes she went to get changed and put on a light make up. Not knowing what to do she went to do a her work and read the work mails.
She took her laptop and sat on the bed and started going through her emails. As there were not many mails, she decided to go through them right away.
Picking up her phone she called her assistant.
"Bella, have you compiled the details of the project the LanShi group wants to offer and the information about the project director?" She asked, while replying to an email.
"Yes, Miss. I have gathered the information related to the the project. But Miss, there's an issue here. They have not selected the person in charge to handle the project" Bella replied.
"What? Are you sure?" NianXi asked in return.
"Yes. I checked it and confirmed that there is no person in charge because of an internal conflict between the employees." Bella said
"Okay, we will discuss this with them tomorrow. Remember to point it down. And send me the information. That's all. Get off work early and don't overwork." she said and hung up.
After replying to an important mail, she then forwarded it to Bella.
' The Sun company has made a request to take part in the bid next month. I've mailed them a response. Register them in the bidding list.' After sending the message she closed her laptop.
She got up to call Xi Cheng, when the latter called her asking if she was ready. Answering the call she took her bag and the gifts she had prepared and left the apartment after locking the door.
Xi Cheng got out of the car and helped her put the gifts in the back sit. Then they got into the car and set of to the Lu Mansion.
In the car, while driving Xi Cheng looked at the gifts behind and asked.
"Why did you buy so many gift?"
"It's for Mom, Dad, Brother and Grandpa. Ah..! Also for the butler, he's been serving our family for so many years and has also treated me kindly." She looked at Xi Cheng and said playfully.
When Xi Cheng heard that even the butler had a gift but nothing him for him, he pursed his lips. Looking at his face NianXi burst out laughing.
Hearing her laugh, Xi Cheng realised that the little darling was teasing him! He looked at her laugh at gently pinched her cheeks and said in a chidding tone. "Little troblemaker, do you find it fun to tease brother, huh?"
"Ah! Brother Cheng not my cheeks! Focus on your driving. I don't want to get into an accident!!" NianXi refuted.
"humph..... I'll deal with you later!" He said and focused on driving.
"Brother, are you angry?" Lu NianXi looked at Xi Cheng and asked with a serious face.
"What do you to take me for? Am I so petty to get angry for such a reason?" He asked.
Then NianXi looked down at her hands that rested on her lap and fell silent. Few minutes later she looked up at Xi Cheng and spoke in low voice.
"Angry that I left without looking back?"
Stunned Xi Cheng stepped on the breaks heavily, as the car stopped with a screech sound. Thankfully there weren't any cars close behind.
"What are you talking about? Baby, don't blame yourself. What happened has nothing to do with you. You should let the past go and move forward. That's all I and even everyone think!" He said slowly.
" Really? But I'm not confident about how to..." She stopped midway and lowered her head.
Seeing her like this, Xi Cheng understood what she wanted to say and gently patted her head and said. "How about you start by today? Like what your parents think about it and hearing what they want to say. Maybe you would be able decide after that what to do?!" He said.
NianXi thought about it and decided to follow what her cousin said. She had always known that her cousin understood her and would always help her make her doubts clear.
"Okay" She looked up at him and smiled sweetly.
Xi Cheng smiled back at her and then started driving towards their destination.
In another thirty minutes they reached near the gates of Lu Family villa. Looking at the huge mansion in front Lu NianXi felt peaceful in he heart.
The guard immediately opened the gates after seeing the familiar car and informed the housemaids of his arrival.
Driving inside Xi Cheng drove straight towards the mansion. She watched as the garden and plants and trees around the house passed, reminding her of her childhood.
Finally, the car stopped in front of the Mansion, behind a latest model of Mercedes Benz.
Lu NianXi got out of the car and looked at the mansion in front of her in a daze.
Xi Cheng who had just stepped out of his car looked at the shining Benz car in front finding it familiar.
"Is that Third Brother's car there? No, why would his car be here?" He muttered to himself but ignored it and went towards the dazed NianXI. He held her hand took her inside the mansion.
Again she was greeted with the familiar hallway and the paintings and decorations were the same as when she had left back then! Although they were quite old they didn't hinder the grand hallway at all. It seemed to give the entrance way even more of a warm feeling.
Lu NianXi smiled and went in with Xi Cheng. From the living room, faint voices could be heard. It was a woman's voice followed by a male voice. It seemed they had guests at home.
Lu NianXi immediately recognized the two voices to be her parents! She rushed to the living room, and saw her family sitting in the living room. There were three more people. She felt that she knew them but couldn't remember!
Her mother was sitting next the lady holding a teacup in her hand and happily chatting with the lady. Opposite to them her grandfather was reading a newspaper and the butler was standing next to him.
At the coffee table a bit away from the sofa, her father were sitting with a young man and a person around the same age as him. They seemed to be discussing something and did not seem to have noticed her coming in.
At this moment a young man dressed in a simple white shirt and trousers came down from the stairs and walked towards Father Lu and the Mu Family's men.
"It's been a long time since you came to visit us...." She heard her mother say.
She wanted to call out to her when suddenly Xi Cheng pulled her behind him. He winked at her and made a shush gesture.. and walked in with her hiding behind him.
The butler saw him coming in he was going to greet him when he beat him to it and said loudly in a cheerful voice.
"Ahem...Aunt, how have you been? Look who is here!"
Hearing the loud voice everyone in the living room looked towards him. After everyone's attention was on him he slowly moved to the side, revealing the beautiful girl standing behind him.
The young man also paused in his steps and also looked.
clang... the teacup in her mother's hand fell. She stared at her and felt that she was dreaming! Her Father's and grandfather's reaction was also similar to her. She looked at them and didn't say anything for a few minutes..
"Ah.. It's her...." Mu Linchen muttered to himself.
When the Lu Family saw her they felt they were in a dream...
"Grandpa, Mom, Dad, Brother, I'm back! Don't you miss me? I missed you all so much!"
When she saw that no one was greeting her, Lu NianXi pouted her lips and said. Then walked towards them and stopped in front of the sofa.
She smiled at them.
Suddenly her mother up got up when she heard her and pulled her into her arms and hugged her. NianXi smiled and hugged her back.
Seeing this even her father got up and went to them. Everyone in the family was stunned by her sudden return.
"XiXi... you're back? How are you? When did you come back?" Her mother said in a daze. She looked at her and wanted to say when her daughter was pulled away from her.
She looked at her empty arms and stared beside her, only to see her husband hugging their daughter. She was left speechless.
"XiXi you're finally willing to come back!" Her father who had always been doting was the same as always, she thought. She looked at her grandfather and brother.
She walked towards them and gave them a hug and whispered... "I'm back!"
