( Arata's POV )
After leaving the old man's shop we returned to our homes and took care of our duties as students except for Urara, who said he would be investigating the spiritual signature of the syringe's contents.
When night came we gathered together again, Sun now also accompanied us but that night there was no evil spirit to eliminate, Urara's investigation led us to an abandoned building under construction sealed with metal grating, which was a gathering point for hooligans.
We were watching an abandoned warehouse behind that place, the perfect place for punks to hang out, none of the people we saw coming in seemed capable of creating the injection we were investigating so we waited to see if they would meet with a dealer or if they were going to have a meeting.
The wait started to get longer to the point of becoming somewhat boring, Sagiri told me that this was how things usually went and that we should stay alert at all times, I moved away from the edge of the building to get a can of cold coffee and at that moment Sun approached me and we started talking and that conversation went to the topic of our date in a couple of days, Sagiri's curiosity was piqued by our conversation and she was listening intently although she was doing a good job of hiding it.
Urara: Hey you guys come see this.
Urara called us and when I looked over the edge again I saw a black car parked in front of the warehouse.
I thought this was a great clue but I was shocked when some of the punks who went to our school came out of there and they had some girls from our school with them, and they were not with them of their own free will.
This wasn't looking good and I was in shock for a moment when I recognized that one of the girls was Chisaki, I immediately wanted to jump in to rescue her but Sun and Sagiri grabbed me.
Arata: What are they doing?
Urara: You need to calm down. There are too many people there, even for us, and I have the impression the big bad hasn't even shown himself.
Sagiri: We have to keep watching and call for reinforcements if necessary, remember that our duty is to protect the innocent, we won't let anything happen to Chisaki.
What they were saying was true but it still took me a second to calm down, After that I stuck to Urara almost as if I was hugging her so I could hear what was being said inside the warehouse.
One who sounded like the leader was upset that they had brought girls when they had important business, I guess that confirmed that there would be a deal with the creators of that drug we were investigating.
This morning's punk boss defended himself by saying that this was revenge against someone who had offended their gang, and that someone they mentioned was me, I guess they were too scared to admit that they were beaten by a couple of pretty girls.
Still, the leader of the gang didn't care much for his explanation and told him to take his matter elsewhere, the punks were leaving the warehouse when the boss suddenly changed his tone and said that the girls might be useful to him, he told them to take the girls to the building under construction and not to do anything to them until he arrived.
When their conversation ended, the girls and I shared a look and we moved to that building while Urara stayed to observe the important deal they were talking about.
I was going to the front of the building and the girls were going to enter from behind but before I could make my entrance the phone in my pants started to vibrate, The number was unknown but I decided to answer and the voice that came from the other end was that of the punk boss.
Punk: [ Hi Arata, are you having a good night? ]
Arata: Not really, Someone took something very important of mine and now I'm really pissed off.
Punk: [ good, that's good, now I can make your day even worse, I'm pissed off too but I have a cute orange-headed girl here who will help me relieve my frustration, and I think she's a friend of yours, don't worry, I'll send you a high-quality video of all the fun we're going to have jejeje. ]
Arata: I see, I'll be there in two seconds.
Punk: [eh?]
I extended my right hand and a ring of black flames ran around my arm and when it reached my hand my black Katana appeared, I achieved a complete summoning without the support of the wooden sword, I took a swing at the entrance of the building and multiple cuts appeared on the door and a path opened up for me, then the Katana disappeared from my hand but that was okay I wanted to use my own fists for this.
Arata: Good evening everyone, it looks like you'll be helping ease my frustration.
There was a thug near the place where I entered and I threw a side punch at him, I broke his nose and several teeth and at that moment the only noise in the warehouse was the sound he made while sliding across the floor.
Punk: ...Get him!!
The punks ran towards me but at that moment the girls made their appearance and the punks had to divide their forces to attack us, Clearly we were stronger but their numbers made things a bit complicated but I was slowly and violently making my way towards the punk leader, I was throwing punches, kicks and a for thug who ran towards me screaming, I grabbed him by his neck and knocked him out with a headbutt, With blood that wasn't mine dripping down my face I gave the punk leader a murderous glare.
He took a step back with his face full of fear and then pulled out a syringe filled with a familiar red liquid, he was nervous but after making his mind he injected the red liquid into himself.
A black energy began to gather around him and he let out an inhuman scream that knocked out the thugs who were still conscious and the girls who had been kidnapped.
Punk: uhg arrgHhhHHHAHAHA yeah, that's the good stuff.
