I considered the last few months pretty productive—if you count levitating cell blobs and peeking into the abyss as productivity.

Honestly, I was probably more advanced in the Force than half the padawans at any Jedi Academy.

Which isn't saying much, since I was basically a floating meatball with antennae.

Still… I was getting good.

I flew around my expanding mental "influence bubble" every day, leveling Force Sight. When it hit Level 3—bam! Color vision. Suddenly the world wasn't just glowing lines and shadows. It was dark purple walls and creepy green fluid.

Modern sci-fi horror aesthetic: unlocked.

And what I saw?

Huge underground superstructure. Mechanical arms embedded in the ceiling. Endless hallways. No people. No life. Just machines. Just us.

Pods. Everywhere. Growing whatever the hell I was.

the isolation was only slightly depressing

my dreams of being a powerful force user kept my spirits up

other than that I got bored. Real bored.

So naturally, I had ended up trying over and over again to push my pod sibling

they were just clumps of cells I doubted they'd mind.

Took days. Several blackouts. Maybe a mild Force-induced stroke.

Eventually—

New skill learned: Force Telekinesis (Lv 1 / 10)→ Use the Force to manipulate physical objects with your will.

Yes. Yessss. Victory tasted like wiggling a fetus half an inch to the left.I was unstoppable.

Several weeks of these small victories and I had got the hang of the skill but I was gentle nonetheless. I didn't want to accidentally murder one of my own kind right off the bat. I even became fond of the pod directly toward my left, rocking it back and forth in its pod like a baby.

Later, through sheer overuse of everything, I unlocked Force Meditation—the holy grail of stamina regen, helping me recover from the constant exhaustion i was putting myself through

All I had was time.

What felt like months had passed despite the minimal progress in my force related abilities, again not much to do since I wasn't born yet.

I'd notice myself along with the others slowly develop limbs and eyes, small nubs slowly growing from their heads. I could see limbs now forming. Me. Them. Fingers developing

Wait… only three?

And… antennae?

Hold up.

This is weird? What the hell am i?

My memories swimming through any piece of familiar media

BUT THEN—

WOOSHHHH.

My pod jolted clockwise, steam hissing out and knocking me out of my meditation

Yanked violently along some hidden rail. Then—

CRACK!

The glass shattered in 2 clean pieces

My limp, unused body spilled out like a half-baked chicken nugget.I hit the floor from, what, twelve feet up?

PAIIINNNNN!!!

Everything hurt and I hadn't even landed yet.

Once i touched the ground my limp body was indiscernible from a corpse

Then—

Robotic limbs descend from the ceiling…• One stabs into my spine.• Another connects a machine to my back.• A third ELECTROCUTES me like Frankenstein .

SKZZZTTTTT!!

Eyes… open.

And a voice boomed:

Welcome to life, Irken child. Report for duty.

Irken… child?

Hold up.

WHAT?! IRKEN?!

I'M IN INVADER ZIM?!

Among the cruel, ruthless, militaristic irken empire!!!

I'm gonna die before I hit puberty.

But despite that panic, my body moved shockingly well.I stood. On my own.

Arms tiny. Limbs thin. But strong enough.

Around me—dozens of other pods burst open.

Dozens of smeets (Irken children) hitting the floor.

One got up next to me and saluted the robot that revived him.

"Smeet Tab! Reporting for duty!"

Tab spun on a dime and started marching down the corridor.

An identical scene played out in all directions.

Using my better judgment I followed the Smeet "Tab". Interestingly seeing one tiny Smeet hugging a robotic arm in a death grip, 2 other arms working to gently pry him off.

Weird…

Time to check my stats again.

Oh my god.

50 bonus Intelligence?

Irkens are geniuses.

I'd just been born and already had 5 Strength and a functioning spine. And yet I was like… three feet tall.

I noticed the other irkens around me giving me curious looks as I was walking seemingly staring into the floor instead of straight ahead. I noticed some of them show some minor contempt toward me, perhaps thinking I was an idiot….

Thinking about it now, I had been shifting my facial expression while tilting my head toward the floor, that would look pretty weird without context. Following the examples around me, I straightened my back and continued following smeet Tab, trying to keep a serious and confident look on my face.

~LATER~

We walked forever.

Thousands of pods passed. Maybe hundreds of thousands.

Eventually, we were funneled into a massive rail car. Packed like sardines. No straps. No seats. Just baby aliens in a box.

Then—ZOOM.

The car launched forward so fast half the smeets faceplanted.I barely stayed upright.

After a second of everyone getting their bearings I close my eyes and try to use the force.

Nothing.

Just a faint trail left behind the rail car. My giant Force-sphere? Gone.

Cool. So Force Sight is useless now. all that work on Force Sight only to be completely useless immediately after birth, thanks….

Sighed internally. Slouched just a bit.

Suddenly—SKRRRT.

The rail car slammed to a stop.

Half the smeets bonked heads with walls or each other.

I groaned. Crawled upright.

Then—BOOM—

doors opening

"GET IN FORMATION, YOU DAMN WORMS!"

An older Irken stood outside the car.Taller. Uniformed.Terrifying.

I realized something as we poured out of the car—

We're all naked.And… there's nothing. Down there.

How the HELL did I not notice this before?!

We stumbled out. Formed ranks. Fast.Even in chaos, smeets obeyed.

an impressive display of discipline. Following suit, I held my body at attention along with the other smeets.

Faking confidence. Heart pounding.

The officer paced. Snarled. Yelled at stragglers.

Then… he smirked.

Looked over the crowd.

His gaze locked on me for half a second. My soul died.

He finally spoke:

"Congratulations, young ones…"

Oh no.

"…Welcome to…"

Hell? Torture facility? Brain implant chamber?

"…the Educational Center."

...Huh?
