"I am impressed at how much you have learnt in these few days." Jia complemented and sipped his herbal tea.
"Thank you uncle for agreeing to teach me." She finishes her cup of tea and places the cup on the floor.
"That is alright." He smiles at her. "Moreover, you should be more worried about your entrance into The Divine Temple. Children of higher ranks are taught there and children of commoners are taught in the schools there."
"Moreover, The Divine Temple is on an island that we will soon reach and your fate awaits there. You aware of that, no?"
"Indeed I am, uncle." She cleared her throat and drank some more tea. "I am disgusted at the slow rate my body absorbs the mana in the air.
"Disgusted?" Jia laughed. "I believe you should be proud of your body's ability. Even I cannot fathom how."
"I thank you again for hosting me on such short notice." She bows.
"Oh please. No need to for this. I almost forgot that you are only younger than four years old." Jia patted her head.
"I shall take my leave."
She stood up, picked her lute and left the room. She had been kept in that room for a while without leaving do as to focus on mastering the instrument and her magical and physical growth.
Her combat and healing skills improved over the days, making her feel some sort of worth. She made her way to her room and dropped on her bed.
As soon as she fell on the bed, a tiny light eminate from her palm. She opened her hand and a small fox was lying in her hand. It's fur was pure white and had a blue ring of light around it's head.
It seemed to be asleep until Mei-Mei poked it with her finger. It opened it's eyes and yawned sleepily. It had huge electric blue eyes and adorable ears.
It floated out her palm and landed on her head.
"Who are you?" She carefully picked in from her head and dropped it in the bed. It increased in size, the size of a baby kitten.
"I'm your system or your familiar spirit.* The little fox said.
"Why and how?"
"When you agreed to that deal, you unconsciously made a pact with your soul and my system. Therefore," The fox licked it's paw. "Our souls are linked and if you die in this world, I die along with you."
