Kei Yun turned around begrudgingly, his gaze cold and guarded as he searched for the source of the voice. His eyes slowly met a pair of pale green orbs. A tall figure, all sharp edges and lazy confidence, casually leaning against a nearby table. His features were striking, yet out of place; light olive green eyes, honey-colored hair. With a slim but athletic build, dressed in casual business attire, he looked nothing like the average student.
Was he about to be extorted for more money?
The man radiated trouble, just like the two men sprawled on the floor near him. Kei Yun didn't have time for this. He spun on his heel and strode toward the exit.
The stranger laughed. "Running away from me already? You won't at least answer my question first, before you go?"
Kei Yun ignored him completely, not wasting a second in looking back. His only focus was on leaving.
"Not even a goodbye?" Footsteps followed leisurely behind Kei Yun. "Is our relationship worth that little? This is new. I'm not used to rejection, you know."
Kei Yun kept silent.
"My feelings are getting hurt. You won't even acknowledge me for a split second." The man's voice was full of teasing. It was obvious he was spouting nonsense in an attempt to get a reaction out of the other but, Kei Yun refused to give him one.
"Say something, doll. It's not fun when I'm the only one talking."
Kei Yun made it several feet, almost to the cafe's main doors, when a firm hand clamped down on his shoulder. "Hey," the stranger drawled, voice smooth with a dangerous undercurrent, "First you ghost me and now you ignore me. What gives?"
Kei Yun reacted on pure instinct. He grabbed the man's hand and twisted sharply, ripping it off his shoulder. Taking a quick step back, he turned his torso and drove his elbow viciously toward the stranger's throat. The man's eyes widened in surprise, completely caught off guard by the sudden attack. Kei Yun was quick but the stranger was quicker. He reacted fast, just barely evading the full force of the blow, with Kei Yun's elbow dangerously grazing his Adam's Apple.
A flicker of something dark passed through those olive eyes as he faintly touched the spot Kei Yun had struck. If he hadn't reacted fast enough, he would have been a goner, his airway would have collapsed. The stranger's lazy smile vanished. As Kei Yun spun to face him and lunged again, the man sidestepped right, caught Kei Yun's wrist, and with a swift back kick to his left ankle, guided him forward. Kei Yun found himself pressed face down against a table, his left arm wrenched uncomfortably behind his back in a tight grip.
"That was quite scary," the stranger teased, voice low in his ear. "If I didn't know any better, I'd say you were trying to hurt me. Or maybe you just like this position?"
Kei Yun frowned at the man's clear innuendo, annoyance couldn't begin to describe the feeling that began to bubble within him. He really, really, didn't have time for this. Just who in the hell was this guy?
Kei Yun jerked his head back in a vicious attempt at a headbutt. The stranger quickly let go, jumping back with a laugh. "Ay, you're so fiery today. It's so unbecoming of you."
Kei Yun spun, leading with his right elbow, aiming for the stranger's face. But this time, the man's eyes went ice-cold. In a flash, he caught Kei Yun's arm, twisted it, and pinned him again, this time face-to-face, breaths mingling. For a moment, the two men just simply stared at one another sizing each other up.
Up close, Kei Yun took in the man's chiseled features, the shadow of stubble along his jaw, the glow in his eyes and the dangerous glint behind his easy smile. His energy was relaxed, almost bored, like nothing could faze him, but Kei Yun could sense the threat lurking beneath, like a slippery fox, teeth concealed behind a smirk.
The stranger's gaze swept over him, lingering on the tension in Kei Yun's shoulders, the wild light in his silver eyes. He'd seen this young man before, but nothing like what he was witnessing now. There was not a lick of cowardliness or desperation he was familiar with. "You're like a wildcat," he murmured, amusement curling his lips. "All claws and no leash."
It aroused the feeling of wanting to tame him. He could- he should!
No.
He shouldn't.
Not yet. He needed to see more.
The more he looked at Kei Yun the more he found himself entertained. Whatever had happened while they'd been apart, the young man before him had changed, it was like staring at a completely different person. He lightly licked his lips. Interesting.
Kei Yun tensed observing the gaze in the man's eyes, he attempted to strike again, but the sound of footsteps echoed from across the cafe. He froze, he didn't need more attention, not after the fight he had earlier. He would have long been gone if this man didn't appear in front of him. The frown Kei Yun carried deepened even more as he thought of his current predicament. The stranger keenly observant easily caught the micro-shift in Kei Yun's posture, his playful smirk turning into a smile. "After putting on such a good performance, you're trying to run? Isn't an audience what you wanted?" His grip slightly loosened. "I can help you. Or we can continue our little dance. Your choice."
Kei Yun gave the man a deadpan look and tried to vigorously wiggle out the other's grip. The stranger's eyes lit up, delighted. "Careful, kitten. Time is of the essence, any second now they'll come through those doors and I'll have to give them a show."
Weighing his options, Kei Yun shot the stranger a withering glare, it was true that he didn't want unnecessary attention but truly he wouldn't be in this mess if this man had just left him alone. He sighed, "Fine." He agreed, his voice cold. "But get off of me."
The stranger smiled as that was the answer he wanted all along, it was like a puppy being rewarded with a treat. He unpinned Kei Yun but kept hold of his wrist, he guided him out the same door he came from and quickly walked down a quieter hallway, away from curious eyes.
They left the building behind, tension simmering between them as they crossed the campus into a secluded area. The stranger led the way with a predatory grace, as if he owned the ground he walked on. Kei Yun kept quiet but the more isolated they became the more suspicious he got. He tried to wiggle his hand free. "Let go, this is far enough."
The man continued to walk as if he hadn't heard a word.
"Hey! This is far enough!"
Kei Yun was now the one being ignored, no matter how many times he protested the grip on his wrist would not weaken. Who was this man and what did he want with him?
They soon approached a large area of trees and this worried Kei Yun a little bit. The man didn't look like a killer but he could never be too careful.
"Let go! Hey, I said let me go- ...argh!"
The man had suddenly stopped and then roughly pulled Kei Yun forward and shoved him against the bark of a tree. Kei Yun winced in slight pain, his back aching from the sudden collision of wood and bone. The back of the school was quiet, sheltered by trees that cast shifting patterns of light and shadow across the grass. The sun was bright, but the air beneath the branches felt oddly cool, private, but not safe.
The man hovered over Kei Yun, his gaze intense and unwavering as he carefully studied his every move. Sunlight flickered through his pale green eyes, but a shadow of something unreadable hid under the surface. He fully took in the young man before him; silvery moon like hair, stormy grey eyes, healthy supple skin, and his lips the color of ripe peaches, they were soft, full, and kissable. He raised his right hand and cupped Kei Yun's face, gently tracing the two beauty marks beneath his right eye, carefully kneading the skin under his fingertips. Slowly his thumb drifted down and brushed over Kei Yun's lips. He wondered if they were still as soft as he remembered. Lost in a trance, the man suddenly bent down and pressed his lips to Kei Yun's, desire overtaking hesitation.
The man gently parted Kei Yun's lips and slipped his tongue inside, exploring eagerly. He moved slowly at first, tasting every bit of Kei Yun's soft cavern, then pressed in deeper, letting his tongue swirl and tease. The kiss grew hungry and intense, as if he wanted to lose himself completely in Kei Yun, unable to get enough of the taste.
As for Kei Yun himself, he was shocked, then annoyed, and then appalled. He about had enough of this frivolous man. From, his touch to his flirting and now to his sudden kiss. This man just simply did what he wanted, whenever he wanted. Usually Kei Yun would have never cared about such behavior but "such behavior" was now being directed at him.
He refused to sit still and let it continue. With a sharp bite, he drew blood, forcing the kids to break immediately. As the stranger tried to collect his bearings and recover from the pain, Kei Yun took this chance to knee the man in his groin. But once again, the man's reflexes were faster. He jumped back, narrowly avoiding the blow. A rush of cold air brushed past where Kei Yun had aimed, a chilling reminder of what could have been. He stared at Kei Yun and slowly wiped the blood from his lips. A deadly silence passed between the two, the tension rising but suddenly being broken with a laugh that was full of amusement.
Kei Yun's lips were just as soft as he remembered but, everything else about him was different. Outwardly, he looked the same, yet, inwardly he was a completely different person. "What happened to you? It's only been a month since I've last saw you, but you've changed so much in such a short period of time. You're not even close to the Min Jun I remember."
