Two weeks had passed since the rift incident. Despite the public's initial interest in the topic, the entire issue seemed to have just been swept under the rug, with interest quickly dying down or being diverted to something else.
Speeding through an off-road trail on the outskirts of Sunset City was a heavily armored jeep. The vehicle was colored almost entirely black, with a few silver highlights. Plastered on the door was a silver logo of a heart gripped by thorns.
Vroom!
Despite the rough terrain and the speed of the vehicle, the inside of the jeep remained relatively stable, with two figures sitting calmly in the back.
One of them had a flower pot resting on their lap, staring out the window at the rapidly changing surroundings.
"...."
The other figure continued to look at the man beside her, a silent flame burning in her eyes.
"Is there something you want to ask me?"
Without turning around, Lake replied as he gently rubbed the flower's petals.
"...Not really."
