"I wasn't asking for your permission to act, Guild leader Arcane. I am the city lord here!" Xuanyuan said.
"Yes, we agree. But to defend this city, you need to cooperate with us" Arcane dragon replied.
"Of course not" Xuanyuan smiled. "Whoever doesn't agree to my suggestion can leave immediately" he announced.
"Do you really want to go against everyone? If the city is captured, you have more to lose than we do"
"Leave!" Divine shieldbearer shouted in a low voice behind Xuanyuan. "Or I'll make you leave" he added.
"Oh! I'm curious to see how you'll make me" said Arcane dragon. He's the Guild leader of a first rate Guild and is equipped in top tier items. With his strength as a level 84 Guardian knight with a special bloodline, he was confident.
But before Divine shieldbearer could act, the body of Arcane dragon could be seen collapsing to the ground with a horrified expression on his face. Behind him was a figure clad in light armor that instantly vanished and reappeared behind Xuanyuan return her twin daggers to their sheath.
"You're wasting time Shieldbearer" Shadow empress said lightly.
Everyone present had a similar horrified expression as they shifted their gazes to Arcane dragon whose body was rapidly dispersing showing that he's been awarded a free trip to the resurrection point with his subordinate beside him. What frightened everyone was that none of them had any idea when and how Shadow empress appeared behind him. It's as if she's been there the whole time and it's even strange if that's the case. It hadn't been more than three seconds since Arcane dragon finished speaking that he collapsed. And three seconds isn't enough for an Assassin to kill a heavily equipped Shield warrior. And what's even more frightening is that she was only a level 57 Assassin equipped in low ranking items, yet she successfully killed the mighty Arcane dragon!
"Now who also disagrees?" Xuanyuan asked.
"City lord Sword mage, your idea is perfect. We'll organize the competition after the battle!" Guild leader pf Mysterious domain said and everyone agreed.
"In that case, let's set off to battle and I hope does their best and follow the strategy" Xuanyuan said.
"And relay my message to Sky dragon guild that if they try anything funny, they'll suffer heavy losses!" he threatened coldly unleashing a powerful mental deterrence that frightened everyone on their seats. This seemed to confirm their ideas that this City lord isn't someone to be trifled with...
Time passed quickly and now, there was only about half an hour till the battle starts. By now, the massive army of the three cities has already surrounded Jade spear holy city and were waiting for the appropriate time to start. One third of the army comprises of the NPCs which included teams of tier 2 NPCs led by tier 3 Captains. The tier 4 Emperors of the trio hovered calmly above the army looking at the Holy city before them with a serious look.
Even though Jade spear city was a new Holy city. It wasn't a force that can be taken lightly even with the combination of the three cities. According to the intelligence they've gathered, the tier 4 Emperors operating in Jade spear holy city were about 25. And the combined force of the three cities only had 30 Emperors. Even though they had the advantage in numbers, it was a slim advantage as the defensive party would receive buffs to their attributes which allowed them to exhibit combat power beyond what they were usually capable of. And the defensive power of an Holy city isn't something to be scoffed at.
There was a higher population of tier 2 and tier 3 soilders as each city mustered a force of 10000 tier 2 soilders and 500 tier 3 Captains. That came to a combined force of 30 tier 4s, 500 tier 3s and 10000 tier 2 NPCs.
Jade spear city army in the other hand had an army of 25 tier 4s, 450 tier 3s and 7,500 tier 2 NPC soilders. The player base was much smaller in comparison but they still had 1000 tier 2 masters that reduced the gap between two sides to a reasonable extent.
This battle is mainly the field of the tier 4 Emperors and the players were mainly responsible for dealing with the small fries ensuring smooth victory of the attacking cities.
Xuanyuan stood alone at the top of the Central tower with his eyes closed. The Celestial Overlords had already been divided to lead the other forces and guilds to defend the four corners of the city. The tier 4 Emperors of Jade spear holy city also gathered atop the city gates as they waited patiently for the battle to begin.
The calm continued on until suddenly a Knight clad in an excellent armor rose up until he reached the same height as the Elemental towers. Staring right at Xuanyuan he chuckled lightly.
"Sword mage, you're indeed an amazing individual but I didn't expect our first meeting will be under these circumstances" the Commander of the Fiery moon legion, who led the combined forces of the three cities Iron wind emperor said. "Even though you're quite capable for advancing Jade spear city into an holy city, I'm afraid you still can't withstand our combined forces. So I'll advise you to surrender to avoid unnecessary bloodshed" He said.
"Fiery moon emperor has been rivals with Jade spear emperor for a long time" Xuanyuan began. "I thought he'll attack Jade spear holy city with your forces only"
"The balance was ruined when your city abruptly advanced to the Holy rank. Even though I'd rather attack the city alone, a holy city is still beyond what my city can topple" said Iron wind Emperor.
"Enough of long talks. Jade spear holy city will not be going down without a fight" said Xuanyuan. "If you'll be attacking, Let's get this over with" He added. At the same time, the density of Mana in the city abruptly skyrocketed as a barrier enveloped the city keeping the city safe from the shockwaves that was about to unfold.
"Prepare to attack!" Iron wind emperor shouted his voice ringing loudly in the ears of all those present on the battlefield. At this moment, a row of magical war weapons emerged from between the attacking army aiming their attacks on the city's barrier.
All cities in the Realm of spirituality are granted barriers that allowed them to withstand external attacks and beast tides and attacking cities most overcome this barrier before they are able to attack the city directly.
The magic tank at the centre suddenly glowed brightly as its nozzle fired out a powerful cannon that connected with the city's barrier as soon as it was fired triggering a loud sound that was heard from miles away. But the barrier only shook lightly without cracking, successfully blocking the attack without damaging the city.
"Sure enough, the barrier of a holy city can't be that fragile" Fiery moon emperor muttered to himself. "All attack!" He shouted while hovering.
The seven magic tanks charged up as they fired their cannons one after the other causing loud explosions that sent shockwaves around. The barrier cracked a bit this time but didn't shatter and was even repaired in less than three seconds.
But the five elemental magic towers were not just for defense only.
Before any more attacks could be launched, Xuanyuan signalled to those in control at the four towers and the magical turrets that were already charged also launched their attacks.
The Tower of fire appeared as if it was bathed in fire as a fire dragon suddenly emerged rising above the tower releasing an aura that instilled fear in the army of thousands that were waiting for orders to attack the city.
The other towers similarly released a powerful radiance as they launched their attacks that went towards the army in front of the city. The soldiers being attacked revealed panicked expressions as they watched the attacks coming towards them that seemed like it will erase a significant portion of the army without a problem. But before the attack reached them, two more figures rose with Iron wind emperor as they launched their own attacks against the incoming attacks.
There was a loud explosion at the centre of collision that generated shockwaves that could instantly blast a tier 3 expert to ashes but the three Commanders were able to block it completely even though the attack reached the tier 5 standard.
