Chapter 331 - Konrad Meets Horace

"Uncle," Oskar spoke with a rare quietness as Aleksander walked into the guest room.

"I'm busy, Oskar? What was important?" Aleksander hardly looked up, seriously staring at the papers. Oskar sighed, expecting this from his uncle. 

"The war." Oskar took a deep breath, his usual confidence returning. How winnable do you think it is?" Aleksander finally looked away from the papers and at Oskar. He could see there was more to the question than a fear of losing.

"It's not good? Why?" Aleksander put the papers down and leaned back into his chair. Pulling out a cigar from his pocket, he quickly prepared it before he started smoking. He needed a rest anyway; why not spend it with his nephew?

"I... I don't know. I'm just wondering what comes next. If loss. Suppose we win, it's obvious. Father let the king get weak for a reason. But if we lose, what happens, uncle? We all know how the Emperor treats families he doesn't like." Aleksander took a deep breath and nodded.
