After a long period of dormancy, the Blood Ant had recently woken from its slumber—an assurance to Zhou Mei that Xiao Ming was still unharmed.

Zhou Mei's two maids hurried in with flustered faces, their teeth gritted, their eyes unable to meet hers.
"Jiuyi, is there a problem?" Zhou Mei asked, her tone carrying an air of authority.
"Young Master Chu is looking for you," the maid named Jiuyi expressed at once, causing Zhou Mei's brows to furrow in an instinctive response.
"What?" Zhou Mei's aura spiked, rippling through the entire room as the wind bore her cold intent.
