There was something strange about the fight from the beginning. And Helios was the one who noticed it first.
Michael and Lucifer were great warriors from heaven, now hardened and undying dregs of hell.
They were strong, of course. But they should have been stronger. Or at least more violent.
And Helios could not figure out why they seemed to be so… non-confrontational.
Were they concerned about the difference in numbers...? It certainly wasn't unbelievable, as all of the assembled generals could surely defeat two remnant spirits even if they were God's fiercest warriors.
But Helios felt a gnawing in the pit of his stomach. A feeling he only got when the pieces of a puzzle didn't quite fit.
Lucifer flipped over the crowd of dragons and phased through any attacks sent his way. In synchronicity, Michael performed his own acrobatics.
"Hit their souls!"
Zheng and Adeline were already sufficiently motivated. Darius' instruction just gave them more direction.
