Chapter 950 - Chapter 947 Trial

In the midst of the Stairway, the group wondered why the scene was so strange. It looked more like an orgy happening than anything else.

Even Rex had felt like that this was not the full extent of it. Rex knew that somewhere in the midst of this shameful scene there was a clue.

Girls screaming their boys name, the boys telling their girls to tighten up, and somewhere along the path a blazing fire started.

"I cannot die here." Most of the boys shouted and tried to exit.

They were trapped. The women smiling at their boys like predators.

"Come on and rejoin us. It is much better that way." Most of the girls spoke.

There was one near the group and one on the opposite side of the room that did not speak. Rex was happy with the capture scene. He knew that those two were the keys to unlocking this trial.

Amber went to the far side of the room. She had to keep her calm otherwise she would have began killing these people without remorse.

Once she had gotten her to Rex's side along with the other. A question appeared before them.

"Why did you choose these two girls?" The question was.

Rex told them, "These two women did not speak at all."

"Correct."

"Why did you choose these two girls?"

The question now felt like a horror movie speaking.

Rex had to explain his feeling and could not describe it correctly. He decided to do his best.

"It feels like either they are the keys to unlocking the trial or these two have the means to unlock the trial. That is just my personal opinion." Rex answered.

The question did not disappear. Instead, another question appeared.

"Is there anything else that brought you to these two women?"

Rex answered, "Their silence."

As the question now completely disappeared. The original began to change.

The question now was "With these two girls, how are you going to complete the trial?"

Rex was unsure how to answer the question.

Iris came up with an idea, "We will follow the trials and when we need to figure something out. We will ask them for their opinion first."

The scene changed. Instead of the orgy room, now it was the town that they were in. The town seemed like it was quiet and almost ready for something to happen.

Then the bells rang, horns blew, and cavalry charged through the town. None of the group was injured because it seemed like the town and this was more of an illusion than anything.

As they walked through the town, screams tore through the town. The girls immediately dashed towards the area that the orgy was headed in.

The group followed them. It was not that they had decided to just follow them, it was clear that either these girls were higher up in the nobility and did not want to speak like commoners or they had to be in the orgy just because of the housing of it. At least this is what the group had decided on when talking to the girls before the calm broke.

As they neared, a small boy was outside the orgy house. He had cuts and bruises but was rather weak. The girls shouted, "Little Brother!" They tried to make sure that he was safe.

Suddenly, the house caught on fire. The girls were at least happy that a family member made it out safely. The trio now became homeless and orphans.

Their eyes once full of uneasiness now seemed like dull and barely life like.

The scene changed. Now they were together inside of a church. The girls constantly whipped for their brother's treatment. They took it without crying. Their hearts were already broken.

"It does not feel good to beat these two useless women anymore." A priest spoke in disdain.

As the group watched they felt not only sorry but worried. There was something about the boy that made the girls make sure to be beaten to ensure his safety.

Rex went to find out. When he saw how the church treated him now like a golden boy and his sisters like garbage. Rex actually went up to the boy and explained how his sisters got beaten up for supposedly treatment instead of what he was told.

The boy became angry instead he did not show it. The beatings of his sisters were always at a certain time. Unfortunately, the priests over the beatings were the same ones who bowed their heads to him.

The boy had them stripped naked, beaten, and killed for daring to hurt his family. The trial came to an end with a question.

"What could have happened differently?"

Rex felt that he needed to answer.

"If the sisters were not saved, they would not have been mistreated in the church. If the boy had not been told about his sisters beatings, the priests would have lived. It all comes back to us choosing the two girls to save and they made their way to the church." Rex answered.

Nothing happened at the moment. All of a sudden a golden light appeared in front of them. It was the boy.

"Originally, my sisters never lived through the fire. I was taken in by the church and became someone who was praised. My heart was weak because my sisters were never around. I wept in front of no one because I could not bring them back.

When I finally got a whisper that the church needed someone to praise and that they had hired the cavalry and bandits to make that happen. I used my life force to erase the town and everything around it up.

I finally felt at peace. Or at least that is what should have happened. I somehow managed to survive. Being in the Fifth Realm during the time of the massive church gathering. I could not help but cry my heart out even more. This meant that I was going to be lonely no matter what I did."

The boy vanished.

They knew that they had answered the question wrongly but had right merits in the answer. So they waited to hear if they passed or not.
