Chapter 641 - Arc 11 Side Story 1.66: Captivant Adrian Nightfall part 7

"I still disagree; I don't enjoy the idea of us tying ourselves to some money grubby foreinger. You do realise many people from the Northeastern countries are related to the Children of the Future?"

"Considering the actions of the Children of the Future and their descendants, I doubt we aren't as well."

"I refuse to let my place of residence be defiled any longer by outsiders; the souls of my bloodline will strike me to the pits of hell when I die."

"Talking about the dead like that. You sound like you're from Tè Mòd."

"If we had ghosts haunting our lands as they do, maybe you'd appreciate the efforts of your ancestors."

"Says the lazy bum who sits on his ass as children die for his future."

"Well, even if our practises die out, we could ask the people of the land of fashion to preserve them in dresses."

"And why would Tè Mòd do such a thing for randomly little islands like us?"

"Haven't you heard from Captivant? They started going around to different islands, and are making records of them through dresses."

"Why?"

"A woman by the name of Esther has made great efforts in researching smaller, less-known islands for a unique artistic muse?"

"So we are just some kind of prop to be used against her own people."

"She is making real efforts to live amongst the people whom she wants to learn about. Spending a year on each, to weave dresses that encapsulate our amazing existences!"

"If I want to just be written down, I would ask the scholars of Cordum."

"You know for a fact that Molstoria is so wide they can't even reach every island. There were still some unexplored lands in the continent up to the end of the Era of Tempest."

"Still, according to Captivant, she spends at the very least a year, and during that time she devotes every aspect of herself to the land she lives in, making great efforts to become one. Then goes around spreading the lives we live to others."

"Just because she benefits doesn't mean she doesn't care."

"This could be great for tourism."

"Or just bring lots of harassment."

"Every new path bears evil, as every evolution brings greater pain."

"That's why we should be careful and grow slowly."

"I don't disagree, but slowly always seems to be never."

"I want to be able to share how cool you are to everyone. We don't hate being here; we just hate here only being here!"

"The want to protect our place is why older brother and everyone else went to enlist in the navy!"

"You heard what happens over there; they turn all the young boys and girls into nothing but heartless machines for the powerful. Now that the kings have fallen in line, they are just Warwick's dogs, who will happily point guns at us one day."

"It's why they should never have left."

"They are becoming the ones we need to protect ourselves from."

"And you're proof of that, is?"

"Experience, what's yours!"

"Isn't it obvious, Captivant!"

"Did you hear of the training camp held by General Barbossa for all the new recruits in a post-Warwick world?"

"Apparently, two boys, Manuel and Miguel, were doing their runs along with there Platoon were a bunch of cursed dolphins started harassing them. They kept tossing things from the sea at the boys while laughing."

"Causing them to take their revenge. But launched a surprise attack using a bunch of fish to bait the dolphins into one area."

"Though it didn't work out, those sneaky bastards caught on and left the boys stranded in the sea."

"Yet one of the 1st Seats, Barbossa, rode out on a tiny dinghy and found the boys to their dismay. Yet instead of punishing them, he joined them on their quest to get back at the dolphins."

"Still, they kept getting outmanoeuvred, resulting in them having to deploy one of the military's battleships, only to have it flipped over by the dolphins' curse that could make the ocean rubbery."

"At the end of it all, they just decided to toss the Dolphins some fish, and now they eat and drink with the dolphins every single night. For fun, it seems that even in the depths of defeat they could still find joy."

"What a silly story."

"Silly, more like embarrassing. Are you saying a bunch of dolphins defeated the current right-hand man of our military leader? It's deeply humiliating."

"But it seems the boys had fun. You forget how young they are."

"Besides, I heard a large number of scary stories about Barbossa; to think he would get along so well with the young."

"Maybe he is just like everyone else."

"Then do you think he joined Warwick's rebellion for the sake of defending his people as well?"

"It must be fun to pretend to be a hero."

"It must be fun to watch as you rest on the bodies of the young."

"This is why we need to start moving forward. The reason Molstoria is even scared of war is due to our reliance on Terrafide for trade instead of being more self-sufficient with each other."

"Our island is small; if we keep it to ourselves, it barely will change anything. Go and harass the people from Tevet if you want more internal trade."

"Have you seen that those bigger countries are trying to set up those disgusting smoke-producing buildings?"

"I refuse to have any of those on the land I call home."

"Yet they could make things better for the continent."

"And we take on the burden."

"Apparently some have said they could get better over time."

"They would also make it more likely for bigger countries to conduct trade here."

"Based on what? Make-believe. If things get better, I need to see some proof."

"Are you God? Do you believe your humanistic eyes could truly see all the future has for us?"

"If you need proof for what can't be proved, you stand still for the rest of eternity."

"Maybe it's because I know what's worth losing."

"Yet you don't protect this island with your own power. It's the young that do. It's those who you would pass it down to the future that do. With love in their hearts, they move forward towards the impending fear of their death, to destroy our enemies."

"Lies, I know better than everyone else that they just want to get the glory of being in a new revolution. When structures break, even nobodies from unnamed islands can rise to power. Power drives people far more than love."

"No loves surpass power!"

"That's a nice little sentence, but what proof does it have?"

"Stargaze by Captivant."

"Huh?"

"Long ago, within the last 30 years. A young boy picked up the sword for the sake of reclaiming his family's lost honour. His bloodline was stripped of the acolytes they most certainly deserved, and in the face of that disgust, he trained every single day till he reached the point where his sword could slice off a Wonderbeasts head with a single thrust."

"But it wasn't enough. Those he wished to surpass needed not a blade to take off the beast's head, and when he challenged them, his body was beaten within an inch of its life. He was crushed and destroyed, with his flesh barely being able to hold itself together."

"His wounds were deep, causing untold levels of pain to his parents, who pushed him down the path, with them intentionally trying to force his journey to an end by refusing to fully heal his arms to stop the child they've created from moving forward."

"So he wept tears at the pitiful state he was left in, but more than that, he wept tears at the fact that his destiny was ripped away from him in such a violent manner, that all he wished to overcome and transcend overtook what his heart and mind could handle, leaving only tears to fall from his eyes."

"But it was in that moment an angel descended for him, a woman bearing many wings. She had watched from above the innumerable hours, and the untold effort he had put into helping his family reclaim their honour and her heart was moved for him. So while his parents slept, she would come in day by day, healing his arms for him as she cared for his heart."

"He wondered why she would do such a thing to a warrior like him, and in response she would only smile and say, 'I know you can do this.' With his destiny stolen from him, and the weight of reality crashing down on his body, her smile gave him life again; her love returned all that was lost from him, a purpose that could never be returned. It was in that lowest moment that her smile gave him the strength to move on."

"Her presence became scarce after those days, but the power she gave to his soul did not waver at all. His sword swung again, and again against the fierce tides of reality that held him down. And even his parents, who felt fear at his state, were enamoured by the hope radiating off of him."

"His hope transformed into a blade that had cut down the evil, protected the weak, and even lifted a boy who had nothing out of despair to stand at his side closer than even brothers could be. Yet through it all, his heart was fixed not on betraying the love she had given him."

"And one day she appeared in front of him again, yet all her wings had been ripped out of her back. Seeing her state, he cried and ran towards her, wondering what brought this pain, this misfortune upon her."

"Seeing his face, she smiled and placed both of her hands on his face before saying, 'It's the price I had to pay for our love, but know I don't have to watch you from afar anymore.' Her words broke his heart, yet from the cracks his love for her ran out unrestrained."

"They spent the days together with their love overpowering every aspect of their lives, even their world bounds binding both of their bodies together. And one by one, those who had destroyed him fell by his sword, overpowered by his inferior bloodline."

"The cheers of his family roared, the love of the people layered him, and the strength of his destiny grew as his love with her had reached its pinnacle. And there underneath a monument of warriors sealed by the tree gates to the heavens, underneath the starry sky that had fallen from heaven, he recorded his thoughts and love immorium, as he asked her to marry him with a ring made from a fallen star."

"She said yes, and took the ring as they both embraced each other again, and again. Cementing their promises and destinies to each other forevermore."

"That sounds nice, but I think I would've heard of a warrior like that if such a thing happened."

"Apparently, said warrior's ring was never able to seal their union, as the love wielded in someone else's heart had overcome them."

"And that's supposed to change my mind how?"

"Love surpasses all, even other people's love; if you can't understand that, you won't move forward. And even if your love fails, it can one day seal the bonds of others' loves like their ring went on to do."

"EVERYONE, BREAKING NEWS! The next head of the Sieg Bisumods has been officially announced! A man by the name of Siegrund!"

"A power play. I heard they already married off another to General Warwick, and now they are announcing their official head. I wonder which noble they are going to marry this new head off to."

"That's the crazy bit; apparently he is marrying someone from Chronicle Nimbus."

"HUH!? Is he insane? No way that won't bring trouble."

"Isn't it obvious, love surpasses power!"
