Gerard pulled out the map as they made camp. On the map, their marker sat halfway between the village and the edge of the forest. Alder stood by a tree, soaking up the mana from the forest floor.
"Going off this, it'll take close to a week before we arrive..." Gerard inspected the map.
"Stop worrying so much. No matter how many times you look over our route, it won't make a distance. We should sleep after we eat so we have an early start tomorrow." Rena stoked the campfire she'd just prepared.
Gerard pulled out a pot from his interdimensional storage bag, along with a ladle. He filled the pot with water, some vegetables, and herbs from his bag. After safely propping the pot up on the campfire, Gerard prepared two rabbits they had caught earlier. Gerard dropped the rabbit meat into the pot as the water heated and stirred it slowly.
"Is it alright to store food in there?"
"I think so?" Gerard smelled the pot and nodded.
"That's strange."
"What?"
