Creed appeared beside Gerard without warning as he approached the council chambers.
"Where are they, Creed?" Gerard asked.
"Elders Faith and Melein are waiting by the barrier for you."
"Thanks, and sorry about your arm." Gerard looked at Creed's arm.
He had secured his tunic sleeve by looping it around and pinning it to his shoulder.
"If I were stronger, I'd still have it. It's not your fault."
"If I can figure out how to give you a new one, I will."
"I won't ask you to create an entirely new body for me because it seems to take a heavy toll on you. But, knowing you, you might just find a way."

Gerard arrived at the barrier to see Faith and Melein sitting on a bench, newly carved from a log. As they noticed Gerard, the two of them smiled. Gerard stepped forward and sat on a stone in front of the elders.
"Can I ask you both a question?"
Melein and Faith watched Gerard intently, allowing him to continue.
