Chapter 7 - Chapter 6 : He Don't Have A Mate

Roosevolt Kingdom

"You did what?!" snapped Julie.

She couldn't believe how dumb could a person be. And how dumb she was that she married him?!

"You forced a marriage for my son? Have you lost it or what?! Do I need to tell you how sensitive he is about a mate and-" she was cut off by Alexander's harsh tone, "Did you forget he is cursed?! Or did you forget that prophecy?!"

Hearing his words her thoughts shifted to the exchange done a few decade ago.

Three Decades Ago

Sitting on a lavish throne, with a subtle evil smile, a considerably young Alexander was having a fixed gaze on the fortune-teller. The gaze had an intensity that could probably make one shudder, but Reez was not slightly affected by it.

On the right side of the King, Lazarus was seated with a usual cold look on his face, but one could still make out the warmth he had in his eyes and the eagerness he had in his heart. Reez ,The famed prophet was obviously aware of it. Drew was standing behind his master, wishing for everything to went well today, he wished from heart that his master would find out about his mate today.

When he was invited specially by the palace to make a prediction about a young prince's mate, he didn't knew it would turn out to be Lazarus. He personally witnessed the dilemma of the Goddess Agnes, how she was torn between her duties and her likes, and how finally he was granted an extraordinary mate.

Being the goddess's servant had its own perks.

But never did he let anyone get a whiff of his real identity. For all the other vampires existing in Roosevolt, he was just a seer whose prophecy's always holds a truth in them. Finally raising his eyes he meet them with the King of the place. He didn't know why the smile on his face didn't appealed him. His happiness was something that was not so sincere.

"Welcome, Master Reez, We would like to present you our sincere thanks for giving your valuable time to us on my personal request." said Alexander in a exaggerated tone of warmth. Several servants were present carrying a bunch of trays covered in yellow silk clothes. Removing the clothes, several jewels, gemstones and coins adorned the palace with their shine.

Reez was merely affected by all the riches. Placing his hand forward. he denied to acknowledge all of it. "I showed up here because it was Goddess Agnes's wish. It has nothing to do with the request of your's Your Majesty. Hence, I don't think I'm qualified enough to accept these treasuries."

Alexander gritted his teeth, the sly look on his face was long gone, as his eyes shooted daggers at the seer in front of him. This mere fortune teller had the audacity to insult him like that?! The king of the Roosevolt kingdom?!

Julie, on the left side of Alexander was already fed up of all the royal drama. The sole reason she was present there was because it was an important matter for her son. As a mother, the desire of his son for a mate was not unknown to her. All she wanted now was an affirmation from the seer, for the existence of her son's mate.

Interrupting the glare she spoke to the seer, "Sir Reez, leaving all the formalities behind why don't we shift to the main topic. How long is there before my son meet's his mate?"

Shifting his glance at the queen he bowed his head and spoke in a polite tone, "Your son is cursed king but Some three decades are-" he was cut off by the King's over excited statement, "Yes! Reez tell us, isn't my great son's mate is just like him, strong, powerful, fearless and a royal blooded vampire?!" His over excited statement brought a flicker of annoyance in the seer's eyes and a lot of attention from people nearby. Overcoming the annoyance, the seer spoke in a clear and loud tone, "Pardon me Your Majesty, but Lazarus don't have a mate like that."

His statement erupted several gasps from people nearby, the sound of gossips could be heard. In his overwhelmed tone, Alexander spoke, "You mean my son don't have a mate?! How is this possib-" "Enough!" lazarus's cold voice rang out cutting off his father's. "Its enough for today, Let's move Drew." His firm but angry footsteps echoed as he stepped out from the chambers.

Drew followed his master nonetheless but he had a frown on his face, what did the seer was saying before, something about three decades later?

Alexander had a smile on his face that was hard to suppress. Faking a sad look, he made a eye contact with Reez and spoke, "Sir Reez since my son is cursed to not have a mate, I don't think you could do anything with this."

"From today I, the King of Roosevolt decline anyone to have any discourse about the topic of mate of my son. The guilty found would be punished mercilessly."

...

..

.

A reminder of that day was still bitter to Julie, as she saw how heartbroken her son went, how alone her son was. She felt an ache in her heart when she reminisced about the pain Pierce had in his eyes the day they got to know about the seer's prediction.

Sensing her emotions, Alexander came out with his final card, "Julie just think about how much he would need a company, in his whole life he never felt being loved. Now that he could have a chance, maybe the girl would give him the love he desires for, why are you straining him of such an opportunity." he faked.

'This idea doesn't seems to bad' thought Esme to herself but being experiencing a marriage of convenience and a life without true mate sh didn't wanted the same with her son.

Finally arranging her thoughts she decided, "We will talk about about this to Lazarus, but it solely depends on him. If he says 'no' he will not be forced into this."

"I am sure he would agree. then you would know how much he wants someone that he is even ready to accept a stranger." exclaimed Alexander with surety.

'My Dear Son, Finally Ready To See Your MATE?' pronounced Alexander with a evil laugh in his head.
