On the following day, Grey arrived in Valtoria, the capital city, in the afternoon. The carriage drove straight to Nexus Academy and dropped him off at the entrance with a bag containing his belongings. The carriage then proceeded to leave.
Grey walked up to the entrance of the academy and saw people like him, applying as a student in Nexus Academy. He joined the line and waited for his turn.
Two minutes later, an instructor asked, "Name?"
"Grey," he answered.
"Okay, now put your hand on the ball."
Grey did what the instructor instructed him to do. He placed his arm on the crystal ball. A minute later, the crystal ball started to glow and emit a brown color.
"Congratulations, you have the earth element. Now, let us test your mana adaptability," the instructor said, bringing out another crystal ball.
Grey put his hand on the crystal ball, and mana inside the ball began to form the letter 'B.' The instructor then gave him a piece of paper with his name, element, and mana adaptability.
"Enter the Academy and show it to the man at the counter. He'll know what to do," the instructor said.
Grey entered the academy and showed the paper given by the instructor to the man.
"Follow me, and I shall guide you to your room," the instructor said.
Grey followed him and entered his room. He then lay on the bed to rest.
"I'm excited about what magic can do," Grey thought as he slowly closed his eyes.
