Chapter 151 - Chapter 151 - Let's Flay this Bolton.

[Chapter Size: 2000 Words.]

Third Person POV.

North.

...

...

"Are you ready?" Daemon approached Winter in front of Moat Cailin. There was not a single living soul left in terms of enemies, only a few women captured from the nearby town.

He had rested a bit that day while he made Winter travel to the front gates of the fortress, bringing the two cages with the prisoners.

He was satisfied with this and would let Winter act a little on her own for now, while he would control her through his Warg abilities.

The dragon let out a small huff indicating she was ready.

"Very well, go." With this command in the old tongue, Winter spread her wings and began to take off into the sky, leaving Daemon carrying the cages with telekinesis while entering the fortress with Val.

"Why do these women seem so harmless... clearly some of them are surrendering to their captors." Val couldn't help but comment upon seeing a group of more than fifty women cautiously watching them.

Seeing Daemon carrying his prisoners with magic didn't help much either. That scared them, although Daemon doubted it could be worse than seeing a werewolf killing and leaving the fortress filled with corpses, still scattered all over the place—something Daemon would have to clean up when he was alone.

"It's not like they have much choice..." Daemon replied to Val's comment. "It's easier to give in to the enemy than to die trying to resist him..." It was something sad when you only had two choices; a human being would clearly choose survival...

Women have a much greater chance of survival than men as they can give in by offering things men would never offer to their conquerors... Most would end up giving in and sharing the bed without resistance with those who brought them disgrace... Even the murderers of their husbands and children... It was something sad, but also their guaranteed survival...

"Even so... it disgusts me." Val said.

"You people north of the Wall shouldn't be any different... Women end up being captured in wars between tribes. They must also 'give in' to their conquerors many times." Daemon commented.

"Not easily. Most wouldn't accept seeing their child killed and then voluntarily go to bed with the murderer... It's much more likely that they sleep with them and in the middle of the night, stab them when they least expect it, after the act." Val said, pausing before continuing.

"These women aren't like that, they're much more submissive. It's disgusting... like I said before." Val concluded.

Daemon didn't know whether he would argue with her or not, but it didn't matter. He turned his attention to the group of women.

"I'll take care of the corpses and my prisoners. You'll occupy the castle for now and stay here until someone brings help." Daemon said.

"What will happen to us? You didn't say when you left here at dawn." One of them said.

"I'll talk to the Lords about that. I hope you go to Winterfell; I'm sure we can come to a reasonable decision." Daemon said.

"Are we going to abandon our lands then?" Another said, holding a younger girl who cried the whole time beside her.

"You can stay, but I doubt there's anything left here for you. The ironborn left nothing but destruction and death in the villages and towns that couldn't defend themselves. You should plan a new beginning elsewhere." Daemon stated.

"And who guarantees we won't suffer another attack like what happened here? I lost five sons, my husband, and my elderly father. They killed them all cruelly." Another said, crying.

"I'm sorry... I can't change what happened, but I intend to make the North different. I'll make sure the ironborn have carried out their last act against any kingdom... They'll pay more dearly than at any other time in the history of the Seven Kingdoms once I leave Pyke." Daemon responded with a firm tone.

"Who are you, wolf man... Are you a messenger from the Old Gods? Or one of them? You do impossible things and we were too afraid to ask when you left here... Are you a wolf spirit?" They asked while also analyzing Val, who kept an indifferent face and even scoffed when she heard that.

"I am Daemon Targaryen, king of Westeros. I also hold authority over the North and the Iron Islands. I will pass judgment on Balon Greyjoy and strengthen the North as soon as we have the kingdom in our hands again." Daemon said, surprising all of them with his name and position.

"Anyway. My powers are my own and there's no need to question them. I'll be cleaning the corpses from the fortress. Just warm yourselves and eat whatever those men left behind. If you need anything, you can come to me." Daemon said while the woman nodded.

Daemon began to clean the corpses using his telekinetic power, starting from the castle in the higher grounds, throwing the bodies near the cliff directly to the ground to retrieve them later, while those that were lower, he brought through the door, piling them higher and higher in the middle of the courtyard.

Val crossed her arms watching Daemon do all the work alone, since he had stopped her from helping, as he was only using his magical powers to do it.

"Are you his wife?" One of the women asked curiously.

"Yes." Val replied, looking at the woman with a certain disdain. She was also defensive toward these women, preventing them from getting closer to Daemon than just a few exchanged words. After all, they were saved by him, and it was very likely that some wanted to repay his heroic gesture...

"Tell him I'm deeply grateful for saving us." She said, seeming too shy to say it herself.

"..." Val just nodded in agreement and returned to Daemon.

He piled up hundreds of corpses from all over, since he had killed them all easily, being able to see every place they were hiding—even in secret areas and small trapdoors, the result was the same, and Daemon left no one alive.

He finished and unleashed his flames with a Thu'um, while the fire quickly spread across all the corpses, creating a massive pyre and the horrible smell of burning flesh.

Daemon looked above the flames, staring directly south as he wondered how Winter was doing now and whether she had already found the group she was searching for. His eyes turned white in the next moment.

Winter flapped her wings, seeing the group advancing toward the enemy—appearing like a giant anthill in front of her as she drew closer and closer.

She began to dive as she neared them. There was no way to do the same thing as at the Bolton camp, not while they were marching in a single file toward the south.

'Roose Bolton probably saw this coming,' Daemon thought inside Winter's mind. He had likely chosen to march south as a precaution—it was no wonder Winter found the group just below Lord Reed's seat.

There were banners of the flayed men, Dustin, Karstarks, and even Glovers as Winter got closer.

Panic soon spread among the groups as they saw the dragon approaching, starting to lose formation as the terrifying sight of the dragon appeared before them.

Then came the massacre as Winter spewed her flames directly at the advancing group, fire consuming more and more men on the ground, while everyone at a distance witnessed the destruction and scattered to both sides before the dragon could reach them.

And so it went, with Winter unleashing her flames as men screamed in terror.

Daemon's eyes returned to normal as Winter took charge of eliminating as many men as possible.

"Are you okay?" Val asked by his side, noticing his eyes had returned.

"Yes... Let's take advantage and finish this too." He said, heading toward the cells, levitating the one containing the Bolton and taking it to the heart tree that stood in a corner of the fortress.

Val followed behind while Daemon gave her an amused look.

"What is it?" She couldn't help but ask.

"You... remind me of someone." He had to admit that Val had the same temperament as his old lover. He had never noticed the similarity in personality before, though Serina had been more shy.

"Who? Someone from that world?" Val asked, raising an eyebrow.

"Yes... Serina. She was a vampire. Although, you fuck better." He said, laughing.

Val raised an eyebrow and said nothing more as Daemon arrived at the spot, dropping the cell on the ground and opening it with his power alone. He dragged the injured man out of the cell and threw him near the heart tree, the man groaning as his wounds reopened.

He had no tongue, so he could only speak in incomprehensible sounds.

"Do you need help? Are you going to do the same thing you did with that mountain? The one who killed your brother as a baby?" Val asked, and Daemon looked at her.

"Don't worry. I'll have help." He declared as portals began to open and creatures started to emerge.

He had once again summoned the Daedric he had invoked before, along with Springers.

"I don't want him to have an easy death... Can you flay skin?" Daemon asked the Daedric directly in their language.

The being, which made Val shiver all over, suddenly gave Daemon a sinister smile.

Ramsay lifted his gaze, not understanding what was happening, but the cold and malevolent atmosphere was unmistakable as a strange creature stood beside Daemon.

In the south, Winter had finally grown tired of unleashing her flames and began returning north after destroying a large part of the army led by Roose, without knowing whether she had managed to kill him.

At Greywater Watch, a group of people were discussing what to do, knowing that Roose's army was moving south, abandoning the North.

There were several survivors of the Red Wedding there. Among them, Robb Stark, who had a distant look... There was no way he wasn't in a state that had everyone deeply worried over the last moon... He had lost his wife and child, a betrayal by the Westerlings.

They had married, but he didn't know how to proceed after that. Jeyne Westerling had taken tea to terminate her pregnancy—after all, Tywin wouldn't allow a child of Robb to live... The Westerling family left the Frey towers while Robb had to deal with betrayal on two fronts, from both the Boltons and the Freys who had offered bread and salt.

The rest of the men kept discussing what to do, not knowing exactly what had happened at Moat Cailin, afraid to advance north with the Bolton army still in the region—until they found out they had started to retreat south seeking Tywin's protection, as the wildlings who crossed the Wall with Daemon Targaryen were destroying all enemies, be they Boltons or ironborn.

It didn't help when news spread that Stannis's entire fleet had been destroyed by a dragon—the same dragon that destroyed the Dreadfort.

They also didn't know what had happened with Daemon's conquest over Ramsay Snow and Moat Cailin.

But today, in particular, they heard a strange sound echoing from afar—even in the middle of the meeting, they could hear roars from miles away.

"What is that?" they asked, even Robb had lifted his gaze.

The roars continued for a while, and everything went quiet after about an hour. That's when a strange sound came from above the castle, followed by screams from outside before they heard a roar from the sky.

On the balcony, they could see the White Dragon flying over Greywater Watch, continuing north, receiving skeptical looks as the dragon kept flying until it disappeared into the horizon.

"By the gods..." Dacey Mormont murmured.
