Chapter 1 - 1. I Gotta get this game, NOW!

A sign.

A sign Infront of a house said

"This property belongs to Moneki Lawrence."

In year 2056, there was a guy called Moneki Lawrence.

He was above average, In college. He would be getting a few degrees, working out to keep in shape, and an above average salary as a web designer.

He would have deadlines and contracts, but after a while once it's finished and done, he would get a lot of free time after designing webs, so what did he do?

He played games.

He would have other smart friends that got more or less degrees than him, but they were so focused on their degrees that they wouldn't be able to come over to his house and play games with him, or do any fun activities.

He started playing mobile games in 6th Grade.

He played mobile games with RPG elements in them, with also a clan element to fight against other clans and alliances, but they got too boring for him, alliances or clans would always pretty much be inactive with nobody playing the game in a month.

He moved on to computer games and it's different but similar. People would play the games and get less and less active each time they join. He joined parties, made clans, alliances, and nobody would be active 24/7. He wanted them to atleast be on the game for an hour or two everyday, each day. But even when he begged for that, telling the members, clans, alliances, they said "Fine" but wouldn't keep up to their promise.

But then the game Gaia's Fighters came out.

It showed graphics that seemed almost perfectly realistic, incredible real body motion, and it's sound FX were so... real.

Then a whole lot of ideas popped up inside of his head. He could make real friends, have real talks with no typing and... have actual fun in a clan.

"I have to get this game NOW" Moneki said

He was in his house at the time when finding out about this game. Still, he wanted to buy this game because it caught his interest. So he went online and searched up Gaia's Fighters and only saw a official site of Gaia's Fighters, by a company called V.O.E. So he clicked on that site and checked how he could play this stunning game.

"Hmm. Aha!"

Scrolling down, he saw it.

It was called a Vr Capsule, it would have a headset in the capsule and it would scan your body and your fingerprints and your eyes. it would then connect your mind to the vr capsule through the headset.

"Kinda... weird. it feels too advanced."

This capsule seemed like it would be able to take over your body, full control. He ignored it though.

"Meh, I want to play this game, so I'm going to entrust my body to this company. I never heard of V.O.E though, what does it stand for."

He looked and scrolled up and saw that the company name was called Virtual Outer Experience

"Huh, I can see why it's called that. Wait what was the price of the vr capsule?"

He scrolled down once more and saw the price.

$10000

"Wow..."

The price of this is pretty insane, but its understandable. it's a game that has so realistic graphics that, it would feel like you are actually there.

"Once I buy this... I'm gonna have a slight heart attack. This is going to take a lot out of my wallet."

He took some time to think about whether he should spend so much money on a game like this, but after a while, he just pressed the Add To Cart button and went to purchase it.

Insufficient Funds

"Oh damn it."

Looks like he didn't have too much money on his card to buy the capsule, but thats fine. He was only missing about $1000.

"Ugh, looks like I have to work on more webs and get more stupid contracts."

Looks like he's going to miss out a month worth of gaming to get this capsule.

2 week later, he went to a restaurant to go and eat at after having to finish a website. The restaurant had a tv, and what appeared on the TV was a interview with a guy that worked on Gaia's Fighters, and it was about different classes in the game Gaia's Fighters.

"So you're saying that you can earn different classes with certain conditions?" Said the interviewer

"Yeah, yeah you can get different classes by completing a hidden quest that gives you that class or completing certain hidden conditions that the system doesn't tell you about." Said the Gaia's Fighters worker

Moneki liked how it had that feature, but he wanted to hear about parties and clans and teamwork. So he didn't pay much attention to it.

However, he overheard a table next to him

"Hey, you wanna play Gaia's Fighters and then battle a clan together? Join my clan and we can do it."

This caught Moneki's attention, this sounded very interesting and fun. He could be one of those people in a clan. In fact, he wants to be one of those people.

"Uhh, maybe. Those stuff cost like a lot though so I'm going to need to up my finances and buy it in about 6 months man."

"Don't worry about it, I'll buy it for you because you can sell in game stuff for real money."

You can get real money for selling stuff? This also caught Moneki's attention, this would mean he wouldn't do his tedious web designer job anymore.

"Wait, for real?"

"Yeah just join my clan and I'll give you good starting equipment and some tips too."

"Oh, alright then after we leave we'll do it then."

And then those people ordered and waited for their food.

For anyone else, that was just a simple talk at the table but for Moneki, it was something he aspired to get. It was another reason to play Gaia's Fighters, for parties and actual fun with other people.

"When I get home I'm going to fully focus on my job and get it over with. I NEED TO PLAY THIS GAME NOW!"

After 3 weeks later he got the amount he needed sooner than he thought.

"Finally, I got the money and I'm ready to buy it."

Moneki went on the site and bought the vr capsule and got excited.

"Yes! Oh man I can't wait till it comes home. Wait how long does it take?"

He looked back on the site and it said

"Please wait 1 week for your VR Capsule. Thank you"

Moneki was so excited that it took some time to process those destroying words.

"..."

"Are you shitting me right now?"

Moneki was so annoyed that he had to wait a whole week for a capsule.

"I-, sure a day or two or three is fine, but I didn't want it to be a whole week."

He was so annoyed but, what could he do?

"So instead of grumbling about it and getting mad about it he studied about Gaia's Fighters, it's mechanics and tips about it too. Most importantly, he studied about parties and it's mechanics.

We already know how a normal party would be. Tanks infront to of course, tank damage, then damage dealers behind tanks to attack the monster once it's attack pattern is finished, and mages far in the back to be safe damage dealers from afar.

This was a dream party for him. He wanted friends to play with as a party, a party that was unstoppable or at least powerful.

This would be the same thing for the guilds and alliances. He wanted guilds to go on adventures and team up on raid bosses or world bosses.

He wanted... activity for once in a game.

He looked up some tips about Gaia's Fighters and found a video about rarity of classes.

There apparently are 5 known rarities so far. Common, Uncommon, Rare, Unique, and legendary.

However, there was confusion and madness in the comments. A anonymous moderator said

"There are 4 classes that are linked together in Gaia's Fighters. Each of those classes are supposed to be one of each role. Tank, warrior, ranger, and mages. If they are all in one party, they become the most difficult party for a monster to deal with, even when dealing with one of them, it will be difficult."

This caught Moneki's attention, he was getting excited just thinking about it. This was a exciting thing to dream about, but he knows that if there are so many people playing the game and they can't find it, how could he?

"It sounds cool but, I probably won't be able to be one of those people that get those rare classes. Maybe a uncommon one at most."

He also wanted to see if anybody found it in the replies, but this anonymous moderator forgot to add something and told it in the replies.

"Oh, I almost forgot. Their rarities are above legendary, a rarity called G.A.I.A, and it's not right above legendary, it's two undiscovered rarities higher than it."

This also caught Moneki's attention and only made him lose hope in getting it. Oh well it's not what he was aiming for anyway.

"It's fine, it's not my big priority. I want to atleast put up a good fight with my party or a guild."

So Moneki just thought not much about it and went on looking for more tips. He found out in a forum that the rarities for classes are also the same for weapons. the forum doesn't mention a G.A.I.A rarity, but it does mention a godly rarity. It also sounds rare to him but it's fine.

"Oh, 9 o'clock, I'm going to research about this later, that's enough for me. Time to hit the mattress."

He then went to his bed and went to sleep.

Once he woke up, he kept on researching about Gaia's Fighters.

While looking through forums, he found out about what seems like the hardest zone in the game so far. Alot of people were talking about this zone in completely different forums, making jokes or memes about it. It was called Dark Mountains Of Dragons. It would have lots of rock pillars, a little magma in random places considering dragons are there, a foggy atmosphere, and about 4 dragons each mile in game.

"I'm probably never reaching that place." Moneki thought.

After all that is too hard of a place to go to, unless you got a party or a guild with you.

"Whatever, I'll just be working on 1 more website while i wait for it"

Moneki relaxed himself and got composed and worked on a website

A few days later, he finishes the website and then a day later the Vr capsule comes. Two guys in a van that said V.O.E, began to walk to his doorstep and ask

"Hello there, we come from V.O.E company, you bought the Vr capsule correct?"

Moneki responded

"Yeah that's correct."

"Alright then sir, where would you like us to put it?"

Moneki began thinking of whether or not he wants it in his living room.

"Uh... put it in my room."

They began to pick up a long box out of the van and bring it to his doorstep.

"Alright, show us the way."

Moneki then showed the way and where to put it. They also followed behind them.

"Uh, put it in the corner over there."

"Alright sir."

They put it in the corner next to the TV.

"Okay, that's it sir. Your VR capsule is put in place and your Manual is in the box."

"Alright, thank you guys."

The workers then left the house and went back in the van and drove off.

Once Moneki closed the door, he started jumping with excitement and joy.

"YES!"

"Finally, this is it, this is what I've been waiting for this whole time."
