Around the structure, the Black Hound Legion had established a perimeter of absolute control. The creatures numbered in the tens of thousands now, a force so massive and organized that it seemed to defy natural explanation.
They had formed a barrier that no human or conventional magical force had yet dared to breach. The Ministry wizards and witches maintained their distance, assessing and analyzing, waiting for orders from their superiors.
Reports flew back and forth between the Ministry command center and the Emperor's position. The structure was emitting some kind of energy signature.
Whatever it was, it was building, accumulating power. It would reach a critical point sometime tomorrow, Saturday, the day that had been marked in Angus's letter as significant.
