The next day, Reina was ordered to come over to the big house by Old madame. It was her monthly check up routine. Old madame, Lady Mina, Giselle and Sasha were all present at the house. Even Soraya was there as well and everyone sat there waiting for the doctor's report with different thoughts.
Old madame and Lady anxiously anticipated a good news while the sophiscated Soraya and Sasha waited with bated breath. They each hope that the inevitable wouldn't have happened.
A short while later, the doctor descend down the stairs with Reina following behind him. When the doctor looked at Old madame with a subtle smile, she stood up with the help of Lady Mina.
"Well, don't keep us in anymore suspense and tell us what's going on? Is there any good news?". Old madame spoke anxiously. "Congratulations to Old madame. The young lady is now expecting a child. Finally, your dream has been realized." The doctor replied.
Reina's eyes widen in shock at the thought that she's now pregnant. Nina and Giselle's eyes light up with joy. While Old madame burst out into joyous laughter, "Really?!. She's really carrying my great grandchild?. Oh this is such a great news. God bless my Zelkowicz clan."
Soraya felt her heart dropped a little. She has always dreamt of being the woman that will bear children for Harry and live a happy life with him. However, her dreams couldn't come true and now another woman is going to give him a son. Although her heart was hurting but she hide it behind her cheerful smile.
"Miss, did you hear that? You're finally pregnant. In your tummy is where the little master is being nurtured. This is such a happy matter. Congratulations". Nina spoke excitedly, looking at a dazed Reina with joy. "Congratulations Reina. My brother will be so happy with this news. Soon I'll get a nephew or niece to play to call me aunty. How exciting." Giselle said.
Upon seeing how Reina was receiving congratulations from everyone as if she was the mother, a seething Sasha looked at her with malicious intent, her eyes staring daggers at her but she quickly hid her evil intentions and wore her sweet smile.
She walked up to Reina with a happy smile and affectionately took both her hands, startling the latter. Nina and Giselle looked at her wearily as if she was a viper that would strike at Reina.
"Thank you for your efforts to carry my child. At the thought of being a mother, l feel so happy and overwhelmed. Thank you for all your effort to realize mine and my husband's dream of having a complete family." Her seemingly kind words successfully managed to put Reina in her place as a surrogate and indirectly telling everyone that she was the legal mother.
Reina's bite her lips and bowed her head to hide her emotion. Now that she's expecting a child which belongs to her but she has to give it to another woman, her heart couldn't accept it now. After the excitement settles, the doctor spoke, "We have to run some tests on her at the hospital to know the gestation period and check the child's health. The young lady will have to follow me to the hospital." Old madame agreed to it.
"Well I'll go with Reina. I want to experience the whole process of my child's birth. I'll take her with me to the hospital" Sasha said. Understanding her logic and seeing nothing wrong with it, Old madame agreed.
"I'm going with you two". Soraya also said. "There's no need to go. You're not required to be there" Sasha quickly rejected her idea. Unconvinced, Soraya replied, "I insist on going with you two. I don't think you should have a problem with that if you don't have any tricks up your sleeves" Soraya mocked.
Fuming, Sasha said, "Suit yourself. You can follow along". Nina wanted to come as well but Sasha was having none of that so Reina told her to await her return and together with the doctor, they left the mansion in a black sedan. Inside old master Arnold's room, Old madame happily shared the news of the pregnancy with him.
"As always you've gotten your way, Nuria. You're really determined to have it your way". Old madame didn't respond but stared intensely at the old black and white wedding photo of Old man Arnold and herself.
Back then he was an extremely good looking and strong youth while she was a beautiful and elegant lady. they were a match made in heaven. Seeing his wife not saying anything to him, old man Arnold sighed deeply and with a wave of his hand, he dismissed her. "Leave. l wish to be left alone " Old madame walked away from there.
They once had such intense love but the trials of life has worn out their love and all that's left are their ambitions and desires. They no longer walk the same path together. It's a shame but such is life. Nothing last forever in the face of money and power.
