Charles was amused by the joke and burst into laughter before speaking again, "I know I look terrible right now, but there's no time to deal with that. Once everything stabilizes, I'll find a way to heal. For now, you'll have to put up with it."
"It doesn't bother me; I'm not exactly a sight for sore eyes myself. But if you met other women looking the way you do now, they'd surely shun you."
Anna suddenly thought of something, and a small crack opened on her forehead. A black and red spider emerged from it and crawled into the shriveled right eye socket of Charles.
"Whew, thanks, that's much clearer," Charles said, rubbing his eye.
"Be careful with that thing. Spiders like that are rare in Earth Sea. If you use up all the spiders on Redwood Island, you'll truly become a cyclops."
Charles smiled at Anna in front of him and gently caressed her shoulder. "Anna, are you keeping something from me?"
