The night outside was cold, and it was just starting. They couldn't hear the harrowing fights taking place outside between the Blizzard Monster and the horrors of the deep sea, thanks to the loud wind, but they could feel the faint tremors in the ground. From time to time, a slight vibration would travel through the entire house and make the flames flicker.
As the flames flickered and cast their light around, the shadows in the room danced and twisted, illuminating the room with a warm orange glow.
