She jumped toward William with a burst of her newfound energy, grabbing him firmly by the arm and pulling him close to whisper in a frantic tone, "When I finally woke up back at the estate, I didn't find any of the scrolls you left for me! I searched everywhere!"
"What?!!!"
This time, the mask of composed maturity shattered completely. It was William's turn to be genuinely shocked. He stared at her, his eyes wide with disbelief.
"How is that possible? I left them right there for you! I spent hours preparing those so you could keep studying the spirit circulation and training your pathways the moment you woke up. If they're gone... then how in the world have you been training for the past few days?!"
