Chapter 162 - Meeting Sang

The sharp, familiar tone came from the shadow of a nearby doorway, startling him. William turned to see Ellina stepping out from a low-roofed stone structure.

The master at the gate had told him she was in building twelve, yet the sign above the door she just exited clearly bore the number five.

William quickly replaced his look of confusion with a smile—one that was more predatory than friendly. "I was looking for you, Master Ellina."

"Don't try to change the subject," she said, stopping a few meters away. She crossed her arms over her chest, her eyes narrowed in a challenge. "Are you suggesting you are dissatisfied with my arrangement of the test buildings?"

"It's... It's too random!" William replied, unable to keep the exasperation out of his voice. "No matter how I look at it, there is no pattern, no sequence, and certainly no logic to this layout. How is anyone supposed to find anything?"
