"Then what is the problem?" William asked, his brow knitting in confusion. "If it isn't the cost or the materials, what is stopping the finest smiths in the academy from making a polearm?"
Just as Sang was dying to master flying gears, William was dying to test his advanced combat techniques. But for those techniques to work, he needed a weapon with the right weight, balance, and spiritual conductivity. A sword simply wouldn't suffice for the manoeuvres he had planned.
"It is a problem of the design itself," Sang admitted bitterly. "Glaives are specialised, complex weapons. Currently, our department only possesses blueprints for Bronze Grade glaives. Any design for a Silver or Gold Grade version is kept under absolute lock and key by the Great Academy's central forging departments and those stingy Forging Guilds scattered across the continent. They guard those blueprints like religious relics."
