"Don't worry about it," William said with a confident smile. "Once we all show up today, standing tall and healthy, those claims will be wiped clean faster than ink in the rain."

"Exactly! That's also what my grandfather said."

"The old man is here in the academy?" William asked, surprised. He hadn't expected the Patriarch to move so quickly.

"No, he didn't come personally," Berry clarified, shaking her head as they neared the academic district. "He sent our head butler to find me. He wanted to make sure I knew what was being said and how I should handle myself."
