Chapter 385 - Ten Black Missions!

August had his back turned towards Larcade and could not help but feel a little forlorn. He may have several objectives and goals for why he was undertaking this task and helping Larcade, but what others did not know was that this was also something personal for him.

To him, Larcade's situation reminded him of himself—or at least, the "him" of his previous life. He had been terminally ill for the majority of that life, remembering his hospital bed more than the one at home. For several years, he had to witness the warm, loving gazes of his parents, even though they tried so hard to conceal their pain and sadness.

Never once did they take out their frustrations and worries on him. They never called him useless, a burden, or a piece of bad luck, as he overheard some nurses say. They never gave up on trying to save him, even when there was no hope left for him.
