"Beach time!" Amatesa said as they arrived to the beach.
"This beach is so different. The sand is pale." Turquoise was kneeling down touching the sand. "It's soft too."
"The sand here is different. it gets harder the closer you get to the water, much like our sand.c Amatesa explained. "The water will be new for you as well. It's salty."
"Who put salt in the water? Turquoise asked.
Leon laughed, "That's just how the water comes. Let's quit talking about it and get in it." He started running towards the water and did a big jump, jumping over the other people and diving into deeper water.
"You won't show me up!" Amatesa ran and jumped even further into the water. Turquoise just walked over to the water and went ankle-deep. She noticed the bystanders were somewhat looking at them but were mostly intrigued not annoyed.
After spending half an hour wrestling in the water, Amatesa and Leon came back to shore. Turquoise was sitting under an umbrella playing with the sand. "Hey guys, taking a break?" She asked.
"Yea," Amatesa took a breath, "fighting with water weight is exhausting."
"You are still as hard to take down as always." Leon said with a smile.
"Hey, are you Amatesa?" A strange voice asked. Amatesa looked over at the person. A tall bull man was walking towards her. "Dragons are a rarity, especially female ones that can fight. I figured that would be you."
"Yes, that would be me. Are you from the South as well or are you from around here?" Amatesa asked.
"I'm from here, my name is Stan. I'm a mercenary. I've been hearing talk about you. I been waiting for the day I could see you in person." Stan said proudly.
"I'm flattered." Amatesa blushed. "I didn't know people were talking about me. How tough did they say I was?"
"Possibly the strongest close-range fighter. That's why I'm here to see for myself." Stan said grinning.
"I'm down to show you, but not right now. I'm hanging out today, but you're free to hangout with us. Having a friendly person is nice." Amatesa said.
"What's he saying? Is he looking for a fight?" Leon asked in beast.
"Oh sorry, I didn't know you didn't speak human. I can also speak beast as well. I am looking for a fight but it was more of a spar. I'm in no hurry." Stan said
"Yes, it can wait because we are going to enjoy this day." Amatesa smiled. "Now come and drink with us. I have some special drinks from back home I packed up. Amatesa opened her dimensional pocket to bring out a cooler.
"Don't have to tell me twice to have a good time." Stan took the drink Amatesa handed to him. Leon also grabbed a drink as well. Amatesa looked over to Turquoise to see what she was up to and gasped. Turquoise had a group of boys who were talking to her under her umbrella.
"Your part dragon and snake? That's so cool. No wonder you look so pretty. Do you have a boyfriend?" One boy asked.
"No, I don't have a boyfriend." Turquoise smiled back. She was lying on a beach chair stretched out. A group of 3 boys all standing around her. Amatesa walked over to her.
"She's off limit boys. Her dad would quite literally kill you all. Go talk to someone else." Amatesa said as she waved her hands at them. They mumbled and walked off. "Why are you entertaining these boys?"
"I saw you talking to that other guy, that you're drinking with, I thought we were socializing." Turquoise looked confused. Amatesa thought about it.
"I won't say anything, but make sure nothing follows us back." Amatesa said as she grabbed another drink. "I don't need my brother on my butt."
"Yes auntie." Turquoise waved the boys back over as Amatesa walked away.
"You're the 'cool' auntie?" Leon chuckled.
"I didn't want to be a hypocrite. I know it's different but we can't shield her from everything." Amatesa said. "Plus, she could kill any of them in an instant, so nothing to worry about."
"Stan, you know how to play net ball? I brought my ball and some of the humans will even play with us." Amatesa asked.
"I've heard of the game, but never played it." Stan replied.
"It's easy. You just hit the ball over the net and if the other team doesn't hit it back over the net, then you get a point. Simple right?" Amatesa explained. "You are only allowed to hit it once though, until it goes over."
"Sounds simple enough." Stan said.
"Great, remember no hands allowed, you can use anything else though." Amatesa grew her tail to be greater in length. "Including tails. It's a beast game that anyone can play."
They then divided each other up in teams of 5. Leon and Amatesa on separate teams. Amatesa had Turquoise and Leon had Stan. Amatesa team also had the boys that were talking to Turquoise as well. Leon had some of the beachgoers who wanted to have fun and didn't mind with who.
The game was an intense one with both teams trying extremely hard to win. The goal is to get to 20 points. Any time the ball hits the ground, the opposing side gets a point. As stated, anything besides hands can be used. You can hit the ball with any other part of your body. The ball itself comes in different weights, casual play is done with a lighter ball, but serious players use heavier balls to demonstrate their strength.
The games fly by. With both teams taking games off each other and having a good time. They played until Sunset. "Thanks for the games, we have to head home. Bye Turquoise." The trio of boys said as they went home.
"Bye guys!" Turquoise waved back.
"Amatesa, how long will you be in town? If you're free tomorrow, you can stop by my gym and spar with me. The others there would enjoy having you around." Stan asked.
"I'll consider it, I do have plans. I'll try and stop by though. Don't want to disappoint a fan." Amatesa said. Stan went off as well and the beach was mostly empty with a few couples walking along the shore.
"It's nice that majority of the people stopped looking at us as the day went. Now they aren't even looking at us anymore." Turquoise said.
"They probably had a bad idea about beast people. Probably thought we would be monsters and attack them. But eventually they saw we were people too. However, my contact should be coming here soon with directions on how to meet our person of interest. I gave them our locations to meet in person. Turquoise would you be able to lower your veil briefly?" Leon asked.
"Oh, sure. We should be visible to anyone within 300 meters." Turquoise lifted her arms and brought them down.
"That's pretty cool, your eyes quickly changed colors. Well one of them did. It went green like the other. Is that normal for you?" Leon asked.
"That is normal. My eyes usually change color depending on which skills I'm using. For skills that come from my mother's side, my eyes turn green. For magical abilities, they go blue from my dad's side. It's always been that way though I don't think it boosts me any." Turquoise explained.
"You are a rare breed indeed. Very fine genetics." Leon said.
Shortly after waiting the envoy appeared.
"Sir Leon, here are the instructions. Farewell." He appeared and vanished quickly. As he left, Turquoise reactivated her cloak to shroud their presence.
"If we stay longer, I doubt anyone would need tracking magic to find us. A whole beach did see us." Turquoise said.
"Let's head back to the hotel and change. We'll make our move tomorrow." Amatesa said.
