Chapter 2 - The Void part 2

To test his new theory out he first started to think about anything else but light, and so he started walking.

He thought about how much he loved sitting on rooftops and eating ice-cream, and exactly as he thought, he didn't get any closer to the light. The only thing he got from that was how tragic it was that he had no Idea why he loved rooftops and ice-cream.

Then he started to think for all he could about how much he wanted to go to the light.

And precisely as he had predicted the light was fast approaching.

He came up with a new idea, he tried facing away from the light still thinking intensely on the light, he started walking. After some time he stopped and turned around.

He couldn't believe his eyes, he was so close to the light now!

So close in fact that he could see some weird fumes pouring out from whatever the light was coming from.

But this was very strange, how could he get closer if he was facing the other way? Then another theory came into his head. He thought that maybe in this mystery of a Void he had found himself in the way you moved was not walking, flying or even crawling. It was by thought.

"The only way to travel inside this void is to think about where you want to go and then start moving in whatever direction". "This has too be right" the boy thought, proud of himself for coming up with that clever answer.

He tried climbing upwards, it worked.

He tried swimming straight down, it worked. He even tried laying down in the nothingness and rolling, it worked.

As long as he thought about the light and did kind of whatever motion? he got closer to it.

He also realized that if he stopped thinking about it and then moved, he got further away.

It was a really strange feeling, but kinda fun he thought. He laughed but no sound was heard in the emptiness.

With this new ability he had acquired he moved so fast that it felt like he was being pulled at by a greater force.

At last he arrived at the source of the mysterious light.

"Strange" he thought, it was not what he expected. In front of him at eye level there was a crack, some kind of hole. Not just any crack, it was a crack in literary nothing.

"Was that even a thing " the boy thought.

But it did not change or disappear, it was real. Like shattered glass but in reality itself. It looked like someone had stabbed trough the literal fabric of space with a knife. It was bleeding some kind of energy that looked like heavy purple gas, it looked magical.

He walked closer to it.

The opening in the crack was where the light was coming from. He looked through the crack.

It was like looking through a shattered window. And what he saw shocked him.

It was a lush forest coloured in all the shades of green imaginable, with massive trees and bushes. And in the background a big mountain range with snow on the tops. The crack in reality was a way home!

But when he looked closer he realised, it wasn't "home" at all. The sky was purple and he saw a weird creature in the forest that looked nothing like anything you would come across on earth.

It stood completely still, like it had been frozen.

At first the boy got really disappointed, what was he supposed to do now?

He had followed the light in the hopes of something, then he thought he found a way to his supposed "home", but it wasn't that at all.

He had no idea what this place was, but wherever or whatever this was, he had too admit, it was beautiful.

He stared at the crack.

After some thought he came to the conclusion that it looked like broken pieces of glass(the pieces being reality) splintered just floating there in the air, and in the middle a crack. So he called it "Crack" cause it looked like one. Like a crack in reality.

It was like a portal to another world, dimension or place. He didn't know the answer.

He stood there for a long dreadful moment. He wanted to go there, he had started getting really hungry and thirsty. It was so beautiful but so far away.

The crack was too small for him to step through. He raised his arm and stroke his finger against the side of the crack. It was a weird chilling feeling but surprisingly pleasant.

To his surprise the crack moved when he pushed it at the edges.

He grabbed the edges of it with both his hands. He tore it open with quite ease, it became bigger. He laughed in disbelief.

"What the fuck" was all that came to his mind. He hadn't been thinking just acted as if he knew what he was doing.

"This is all too weird, I need so many explanations" he thought. But at least now the crack was big enough for him to step through.

He had too try again to be sure, so he grabbed the edge again with one hand and stretched it to the right it bent to as he wanted? his will and got wider. the boy shook his head, he didn't understand anything that was going on.

The crack was around 2 x 2 m now, he could see the entire landscape infront of him, it was magical "like a fantasy book" he thought. But strangely it was completely still, nothing moved.

Not even one bit. Not the leaves in the trees or the weird creature or even the grass. It was a spooky feeling.

He took a deep breath to prepare himself. Then he took a step out of the mysterious crack.
