A swath of deep blue light strikes the eyes.
Julius Reed extends his hand to block this light.
After a few seconds, adjusting slightly, he opens his eyes.
To his surprise, Ilia Danvers's body is suspended in midair, motionless.
Like he's dead.
Standing below observing for quite a while, Julius Reed realizes Ilia Danvers really isn't moving at all.
If you said he was dead, some might believe it.
He takes a step forward.
Yet he feels a barrier appear in front of him.
Buzz!
Julius Reed lightly pats out a palm, but is directly bounced back.
"Strange." He slightly increases his strength and tries once more to strike forward.
Increasing the strength not only fails to shatter the barrier but instead amplifies the rebound force.
"Returning like for like?"
Julius Reed slightly frowns, holding his chin, and examines the invisible barrier before him.
According to this logic, it seems the less the force, the smaller the obstacle.
But the barrier definitely exists.
