Battle in snow
We all turned to the direction as Rea walked into the clearing Nuni made. She was wearing a gray commoner dress but carried herself like a queen; yeah that's Rea in battle mode for you. She was silent, her eyes studied the scene before her curiously. She looked at me then Scars as if trying to decide who to help. "What's happening here?" She finally asked.
I held my sword to the side casually. "There are all possessed by something," I replied before any of the clones could say anything.
"Tch," the clones all clicked their tongues eerily at the same time then turned to Rea with the same kind of eyes. "We don't despise you," they said. "But we can't let you free after what you see. Cause we wouldn't want you telling the Highvoids or Coldfires about this,"
"Reality check," I called. "My family will know,"
The clones all turned to me, their eyes cold. "We'll take care of the maid before anything. All in due time."
"Cool," I nodded like I didn't give a fuck either way. Damn, this is so surreal that I was having this badass conversation with who were mere fictional characters to me thirteen years ago. But I didn't have time for sentiments, I turned to Rea with a serious expression and said, "can you take the rest? I'll deal with Scars,"
"Are you sure?" She questioned. "Scars is pretty dangerous,"
That annoyed me. You're looking down on me? "You think I don't know what I am doing?" I snapped.
"Ah? I didn't mean it like that!"
Her battle confidence flattered slightly. I suddenly felt bad for my outburst but wouldn't apologies as I'm a noble and she a commoner, protagonist or not. Besides I did nothing wrong.... "It's fine," I said dismissively. "Let's just get this over with, the cold is killing me."
Like a good villain the 'clone mistress' waited till we finished our strategy before attacking us in the form of Scars notching an arrow swiftly, attempting to shoot at me, but I mind blitz her just as she was about use her powers. She shot the arrow anyway but my trick made her miss completely. If not for mind blitz I'd be a dead 'man'.
At the same time that happened the beam girl lifted her hand that glowed purple, but before she could attack, a tree stump shot from the snow ground and kicked her away. Seeing that Nuni dispelled her powers, and as the screen above vanished, the storm covered us once again. I lost vision as the world of white dominated but could sense each person in the battle distinctively.
A confusing moment occurred as we exchanged attacks blindly in the snow. Me and the teleporter clashed with our swords as I kept mind blitzing Scars anytime she was about to use her powers. The teleporter kept appearing at odd directions as she attacked me but I kept up with her. I wished I knew her name (the original Scars) to end this fight. But unfortunately I wasn't that fortunate.
I will not bore you with the details but we must have exchanged a hundred strikes or more. Suddenly I felt and perceived poles rising all around me to the sky like water pillars shooting from fountains. As it finished, the storm in our location suddenly disappeared. At first I thought it was Celestine that arrived to 'calm the storm' but then I noticed what was responsible. Giant pole trees had grown around us, their large green leaves flexed above in the wind dispelling the storm as it neared our fighting site.
It seems Rea is tired of this fight and is ready to kick ass. The said protagonist was floating in the air, her gray dress adorned with vine like plants that bellowed in the air behind her, helping her fly. Fitting of the novel's power execution, Rea could control plants. She looked upset and kind of disappointed. This aura.... As if I was facing a goddess. I fell into a daze momentarily. "Now," she said, "I don't like hurting people. But whoever you are that has possessed my friend and want the other dead. I wont let you hurt anyone anymore,"
"What can you...?" The clone mistress started saying, using Scars body, but a vine shot from the ground swinging at her to send Scars flying and colliding against a building before she fell down, unconscious. I noticed the clone with the beams was already subdued as she lay knocked out on the ground tied by vines. That must have happened when I was fighting the teleporter.
That remains Kara, Nuni and the said teleporter to deal with. It wasn't long that the reilable MC started working on that. Next Rea dispatched Kara by growing a tree under her in an instance which lifted her up before hurling her back down.
Nuni attempted to use her powers so I mind blitz her but the teleporter used the opening to teleport in the air in front of Rea, swinging down her sword. Rea floated backwards quickly but the teleporter teleported to her side and attacked again; again Rea drifted away avoiding the swing by a razor thin margin. She might not seem overwhelmed but in her mind she was actually troubled by the teleporter. This time as the teleporter attempted to teleport I mind blitz her. She screamed and fell down like a stone.
A tree grew from the ground intended to collided with her but she teleported away the next moment.
I should have mind blitz her but I was too distracted with Nuni running at me with a knife. Rea rose tall thorny trees around her as counter measure against the teleporter then started growing spiky plants everywhere the teleporter appeared. I was occupied with dealing with Nuni; she shrieked and came at me like a wounded animal. I caught her wrist as she stabbed the dagger towards my chest, mind blitzed her as she attempted to use her powers, then knocked her unconscious with the hilt of my sword.
Hmm.... Rea was still chasing the teleporter with her plant attack. I grinned and mind blitz the last clone still standing stopping her from teleporting. The spikes pierced her legs in an instance before a vine wrapped around her torso and sent her flying. She smacked against a wall with a crack and fell down in a broken heap. That was the end.
I panted heavily falling to my knees, suddenly very cold. Rea was saying something but I didn't hear as I collapsed and everything went dark.
