"Well, I'll be damned," Roxanne said as she sat on her throne that was made of black obsidian.
" I never expected that guy Zekram, who is so arrogant and scheming, to be this narrow-minded, " she muttered as she crossed her legs and rested her chin on her hand.
Zekram Bael, the ancestor of the Bael family and the one who is called the uncrowned king of the Underworld. His influence had reached all over the underworld, whether it was the light side or the dark side. He is the head of the Great King faction that dominates the underworld with the belief in bloodline purity.
He is also the leader of the Anti-Satan faction during the civil war and was the person who personally invited all the current four Satans to join him and lead the Anti-Satan faction to end the civil war. He is also the person who holds the highest authority in the underworld with his seniority and influence.
Oh, and he is also the person who is the most troublesome person for the four Satans, as any word from him can make all their hard hardworks go to waste.
This man is a legendary person whom even Roxanne had to respect. He is obviously not that strong. No, compared to monsters like Sirzechs or Ajuka, he is very weak, but his strength is still at the level of a Satan-class being. But despite being weak, he managed to make all of them obey him.
So, from Roxanne's point of view, this guy Zekram Bael is a complete outlier in this world. In a society where the strongest fist rules, he who is weak compared to others managed to become king.
And for someone to be able to continue being for all these years without any breakthroughs in strength speaks volumes of his intelligence and attitude. In fact, Roxanne didn't really hate Zekram Bael that much.
Although he is the head of the Great King faction, which decides on the nobility of one based on their pure bloodlines, he isn't as extreme as others. In fact, he is quite open-minded and is willing to listen to other opinions.
From the information Roxanne gathered and with her own observation, Zekram Bael is a person who has no problem recognizing anyone who has proven himself. In fact, Sairaorg Bael, a descendant without demonic magic, owes his position as heir largely to Zekram's interference.
Zekram recognized Sairaorg's dedication and hard work. In Zekram's eyes, Sairaorg is a much better Bael than his own father, who is the head of the Bael family.
And even in the original novel, Zekram had such a very good impression of Issei that he even invited him to have tea with him. You know, in the entire underworld, Issei's qualifications as a devil are very low. Just the amount of demonic energy in his body is barely enough for him to use a simple teleportation spell.
So, despite being able to get a high-ranking devil title and being one of the strongest supernatural beings, most nobles treated Issei as a commoner due to his personality and the fact that he was a former human.
So the fact that Zekram, who is the head of the old-fashioned devils, invited Issei, a commoner, to have tea must have caused a very big commotion amongst the noble devils. After all, this is an honor that even the Satans rarely get.
So, from all the facts, Roxanne can say that Zekram is a devil who values the effort instead of the talent and bloodline of the person. Not to be precise, he recognized that those with pure blood are destined to be strong. But even so, he isn't as narrow-minded as the other devils to believe there are no exceptions to this rule.
And she was sure that Zekram didn't take her Shadow Garden too seriously. After all, their influence in the devil society is close to none. The fact that she herself killed more than a hundred devils, three high-class devils, and blackmailed the devil council are already crimes that are enough to call them criminals.
No, in fact, before the peace treaty, there was a huge bounty on Roxanne's and any Shadow Garden member's head. It's just after the peace treaty that the bounty was cancelled. But even now, most devils and nobles still showed some hostility towards the Shadow Garden and would definitely make any connections with them.
So then, how the hell did Roxanne become an enemy in Zekram's eyes? He would have no point in coming into conflict with her, as their influence isn't much of a threat to him.
If Roxanne were to show some evidence of the crimes he committed, he would just make some poor soul take the blame and make the case close instantly. Don't doubt it, that guy can definitely do that. Even Sirzechs and others wouldn't get entangled with this.
No matter how much Roxanne tried to reason, she saw no reason why Zekram would want her eliminated. Could it be he is just like the other devils, a narrow-minded person who is arrogant enough to think he can get away with offending the other party?
No, if he was that kind of person then Sirzechs and Ajuka would have done something to him long ago.
' It seems I need to have a talk with Mother, ' Roxanne thought as she stood up.
The only reason Roxanne could think of why Zekram would target her is due to her relationship with Azrael. Who knows, maybe in the past her mother might have beaten him or something.
After all, Roxanne still didn't know much about Azrael's past. Her mother always likes to keep it a secret , saying something like she always wanted to try being the mysterious and cool mother like in those novels.
In the past Roxanne didn't take this seriously, but with today's incident she decided to ask her mother whether she needed to keep in mind any other enemies who might come at her for being Azrael's daughter.

The absence of one of the councilors went largely unnoticed, as many of the councilors and high-ranking nobles considered this to be the work of Zakram Bael. After all, many noticed how Councilor Johnathan was trying desperately to convict the Shadow Garden and failing miserably.
And those who were curious enough didn't need to search much, as Zekram's men had already informed them of the details.
Usually Zekaram does this to monitor everyone's reaction and see if there was anyone who had thoughts of rebelling and also to show his Majesty.
It's like he was saying, 'Hey, I'm going to kill this guy, and there is nothing you can do about it. '
But who would have thought Roxanne would use Zekaram's own methods to dump all the crimes on him?
The timing Roxanne used to kidnap Jonathan was just a few seconds before Zekaram's men came. So now the only one who knew Roxanne had taken action is Zekaram. And that guy would definitely not spread this information, as it would be like slapping himself in the face.
As a prideful person, how could Zekaram do something like harming his own reputation? So that guy would only swallow his anger and find another opportunity to take revenge.
