I scanned my surroundings, my gaze taking in the swarm closing in. There were easily a hundred of them—Ante Eden mobs, the same freaks who used to pop up in the game like annoying cockroaches. Except now, standing here in the real world, seeing this many of them gathered in one place and all coming straight for me… yeah, this was on a whole different level.
In the game, they were just described as cultists worshiping some evil counterpart to Eden. But after everything I had learned, I knew better. These weren't servants of some mysterious villain. They were fanatics devoted to one person: Samael Eveningstar.
I'd heard they'd swarmed the Dorian Capital during the Ante Eden attack. I didn't see them at the time since I ended up getting dragged into the Garden, but apparently they'd been out in force.
Now, this was my first time seeing so many at once—and unfortunately, all of them were there for me.
