The wolf seemed to be confused at the use of mana, its probably never seen magic, considering it lives in some dense part of the woods.
Capitalizing on the wolf's confused state, I dash toward it trying to slash at both its eyes, but it snapped out of its confusion, almost dodging the attack but I redirected my slash to a stab, gauging out one of its eyes, half blinding it.
In Extreme pain, it ran off toward the rock I was using as shade earlier.
After Relieving itself of some of that pain, it turned back at me, extremely aggravated.
Playing it smart, the wolf tried to rush at me again, I get ready to stab it's seconds eye, as I was about to stab down, it suddenly jumped biting at my hand ferociously.
I almost drop the dagger out of pain, after collecting myself, I realize the wolf won't stop biting my hand, because it knows of my magic now.
Deciding my only chance was to trick it, I fall to the ground, hold my breath and close my eyes.
After it realized that I seemed to be dead, it stopped biting my hand and looked at my eyes, thinking it killed me, it went over to my leg to drag me to its den.
But right before it bit my leg, used my only working hand to stab between its eyes, before it could react, I had already plunged the dagger into its skull, piercing its brain, and promptly killing it.
After the adrenaline of the fight wore off, the pain in my hand had started to set in, causing a severe, sharp, and concentrated pain to come from the front and back of my palm causing me to involuntarily wince.
After using light heal once more I was depleted of mana, the lack of not only mana, but stamina as well forced me to involuntary fall to the ground, plunging into a deep sleep on the grass, just under the shade of a tree.
After waking up, I realize I must have over exerted myself, causing me to forcefully fall into a deep rest.
While collecting my thoughts I was startled by a system message appearing above the wolf's corpse-

Interested in what sort of rewards a wolf would give, I open my inventory panel, and see four things inside.

After staring at the options for a while, I decide to open the reward pouches and then keep on treading through the woods in search of a town.
After sitting down under a tree, relatively close to the old rock I was using as shade, I look around for any danger, then take out both pouches.
First I open the healer reward pouch, inside I find 3 red potion's, a light green orb, and 2 skill books.
First I go to grab one of the skill books and look at the front and it says 'Skill Book : Appraisal'
The second I saw that, I excitedly started to open the book.
"If this is like in those novels, this should be one of the most useful skills I'll ever get" I say excitedly
As I open the book the same thing happened, a light came out the book but this time I wasn't even startled, and since I was expecting a rush of information, my brain it didn't even hurt.
After the information came into my head, I realize that I need to level up to use this skill better, but for now I could only see; levels, Hp and Mana for most living beings, and for most items I could only see names, what I can use it for, and a simple description.
Impatiently wanting to try it, I go to the one of the red potions and use appraisal, right after that I see a system panel appear right in front of me-

After looking at this, I was content with how much information it gave me.
After doing that I go to appraise the bright green orb, just like before, a system panel appeared in front of me again-

Surprised, I decide to try it, I clutch the orb as hard as possible, and suddenly it starts to crack, and then when the first cracks connected, it split in half and then it dissolved into a small white light.
After that I decide to put the 3 health potions into my inventory, then I scoot over the last item, the second skill book and look at the cover and it says 'Skill Book : Light Cure'
Intrigued, I hurriedly appraise it to see what it would say-

I was slightly surprised when I saw the word curses, but after a moment of rationalizing, I realized that if there's magic then there must be Curses "oh well, I probably won't see one anytime soon" I told myself.
After doing that, I pick the book up, open it, and then just like before, the gold light came from the book and then the information flowed through my head.
After that I realized should probably check my status panel to see what's changed.
After opening my status panel, I see a couple positive changes, but nothing major-

"Nothing groundbreaking, sadly" I whisper to myself, seeing what I was already expecting.
After noting that the wolf gave 5 experience, I move onto the light mage reward pouch, eager to see what's inside.
