"What if we provide information about your brother?"
I stopped in my track as I heard the calm voice of Alex.
Turning back I carefully asked.
"Do you know anything about my brother?"
"Maybe or maybe not."
Hearing this I Turned around and walked towards my seat.
Alex smiled as he saw my reaction. It was well known to most of the people that my mother Marya Alastair disappeared one year after giving birth to me and after that, person who took care of me was none other than my brother Drake but sadly even he disappeared after I turned 10 years old.
Alex wasn't lying either, he knew some information about Drake.
"So are you coming to our academy now?"
"That depends. For how much time do I need to attend your academy."
"3 years at the very least."
"That's too much!"
"That is a minimum time requirement."
"Hmm… I'll join your academy on one condition."
"And what is that."
"That I can leave whenever I want."
"Done."
Alex replied immediately.
'we just need Alastair family name anyway.'
"I want you to write a Mana contract. I just cannot take your words, I hope you don't mind."
"Hmph! Fine I'll write one for you."
Alex was offended, mind you he was one top 10 S rank awakeners in Midgard his words hold value you know.
'But with his personality he wouldn't agree if I didn't sign a mana contract.'
Alex rummaged through his bag and took out some blue papers.
After that he wrote all the condition on paper and gave paper to me.
"Look at it and see if there is anything you wanna change."
I took the paper read all the condition.
1. party A Midgard academy will actively try to find all the information about Drake Alastair and provide it to party B Eric Alastair.
2. in exchange for getting information, party B will attend Midgard academy of awakeners on condition that he is allowed to leave anytime he wants.
3. this pack is valid till Eric Alastair leaves the academy.
4. The breach of the contract will leave the offender party to be crippled for the rest of their lives.
'So they are saying that they will stop giving me any information if I leave the academy.'
"Seems fair enough."
I said as I took the pen from Alex and signed the contract.
After I signed the contract I passed it to Alex who signed it as well.
After Alex signed the contract. The paper glowed and split into two halves.
Alex took the one half and passed another one to me.
Taking the piece of paper I asked a question.
"So when will the academy start?"
"It will start next year around February."
'Exactly one year from now on.'
"Since my work here is done I'll be taking my leave."
Alex stood up and began to leave.
"Hmm.... I'll accompany you to the gate."

"So what position do you have in the academy Alex."
I tried to strike up a conversation as they were walking in the hallway.
"I'm vice dean of the academy."
"So how old are you?"
"I'm 25."
"You are young."
"I don't want to hear that from someone who is younger than me."
As me and Alex were talking we realised that we had already reached the gate.
"Alright, see ya"
And with that Alex left.
"Since it's still morning I should train."
In the training ground
'I should train my ability from now on.'
As I thought about this I snapped my fingers.
And a fireball appeared in front of me. I tried to change the shape of the fireball by visualising the shape of the spear in my head.
And then the fireball turned into a spear. Although it took 10 seconds.
"It really is easier than mana control."
I couldn't do the same with mana. all I could do was move it inside my body. According to Alex, to give shape mana outside the body is very difficult and you will need a large reserve of mana for that.
Let's just focus on ability for now.
Snap- this time I summoned 10 fireballs and tried to change their shape into spear this time it took him around 9 seconds to turn them into spears.
"As I suspected it all depends on my imagination. The less complex the structure is the faster it will form or I could just train in one complex structure to minimise its formation time.'

After that I made various shapes of weapons with my power like shields, arrow, rope, swords etc. By getting familiar with different shapes I was trying to reduce their formation time.
And soon it was already time for me to hunt.
Now I could summon a fire spear in less than 2 seconds.
"Maverick bring me the list of beasts around our area. "
"Yes, young master."
Again Maverick appeared out of thin air and responded.
After a few minutes Maverick came with a thick book.
I wasn't surprised to see this book.
The Alastair family simply lived in the outside region of midgard to respond fast if there was any breach in the boundary of midgard.
The outer region was mainly occupied by forest which was full of beasts and the Alastair family regularly took measure in eradication of all the stronger beasts. To simply put, beasts who were inside the forest were only there for hunters to gain experience. So there was no lack of beast.
I opened the book and began reading.
After 15 minutes he closed the book.
"The devil plant it is."
It was an E rank monster with a poisonous attack. I chose it because, it was a plant type monster who couldn't move from their place it would be easier to kill it, and it could have some interesting ability.
"Maverick prepare the wolves."
"Yes, young master."
After saying that Maverick vanished. I was still at the same spot after he left.
I waved my hand and a small crack appeared in air. I moved my hand inside the crack and took out a glass bottle with blue liquid inside, it was a mana potion.
"This was one of my new abilities.

After Maverick gave me a spatial ring, I destroyed it with Chaos fire on the same night and got this ability and after that I did the same with mana, stamina and health potions and got three passive abilities.
[ Health regeneration : your health regeneration speed is increased 30 % passively. ]
[ Mana regeneration : your mana regeneration speed is increased 30 % passively. ]
[ Stamina regeneration : your stamina regeneration speed is increased 30 % passively. ]
'The good thing is even after getting these abilities. Potions will still work on me.'
It was like, with these abilities I could regenerate my mana faster but if he consumed another potion it doesn't mean that ability will not work or potions will not work , they both will work at the same time so I would get double the boost.
After checking everything, I moved toward exit.

I was currently inside the forest just 20 meters from devil plant.
'Since it couldn't move from its space it's better To hunt it from some distance.'
I was currently hiding behind a tree and looking at devil plant who was some distance away.
Snap- with a snap of my finger I summoned the flame spears. And motioned them towards the devil plant.
FUSSH- FUSSH- FUSSH- All three of them flew toward the monster. And soon the devil plant whose head was full black Petals was
implanted with a purple speary made of fire.
And then it's whole body caught fire.
'Although one spear would be enough it's better to be cautious.'
I thought as I saw plant body turn to ashes.
I also discovered new use of my power when I noticed that I didn't need to use any more mana to burn monsters.
I came to conclusions that my fire didn't need my mana , when it was attached to something since it will absorb the mana of thing it was attached to.
And I got the message in my head.

[ You gained ability [poisonous gas ]
And then with Bing description of ability came to.
[ Poisonous gas: a gas filled with different kinds of poison. Has the effect of paralysis, dizziness, blindness etc. ]
'With this head on fight will be easy.'
I thought as I used ability on the tree and before long purple gas started surrounding my hands. I motioned my hand and gas moved toward the tree but the tree didn't show any changes.
"I thought so. I can only use this on monsters and humans huh."
I said as I retracted my ability.
"Now let's hunt other devil plants, I need to increase my mana capacity too."
I said as I moved away from my position, with a small smile on my face. If anyone else saw me like this, they would think I was thinking about doing something Evil.
