Over time, several different power sources and combat methods have developed, allowing certain individuals to fight against Honkai threats.
While most people rely on technology or Valkyrie training, a few rare individuals possess abilities that go beyond ordinary combat systems.
This chapter briefly explains the main power types that exist in the story.
Honkai Energy
Honkai energy is a mysterious and destructive force that periodically appears in the world. It manifests through disasters, Honkai beasts, and occasionally through powerful individuals known as Herrschers.
Most humans cannot safely handle Honkai energy. Direct exposure often leads to corruption or death. Because of this, specialised warriors known as Valkyries are trained to resist Honkai influence and fight against these threats.
However, even Valkyries must rely on advanced equipment and careful control to avoid being consumed by Honkai power.
Valkyrie Combat System
Valkyries are elite fighters trained to battle Honkai beasts and other supernatural threats.
Their combat strength usually comes from a combination of physical training, specialised weapons, and battle suits designed to enhance their abilities.
Organisations such as Schicksal and St. Freya Academy train Valkyries to resist Honkai corruption and fight effectively in dangerous environments.
While powerful, most Valkyries still operate within human limits and rely heavily on teamwork and equipment.
Ki (Internal Energy)
Ki is a form of life energy generated from within the body. Unlike Honkai energy, which is external and destructive, Ki originates from a person's vitality, breathing, and mental focus.
This form of power is usually cultivated through martial arts training and strict discipline.
One of the most well-known practitioners of Ki is Fu Hua, whose combat techniques rely heavily on precise control of internal energy rather than raw Honkai power.
Because Ki comes from the body itself, it does not cause Honkai corruption. However, mastering it requires exceptional physical conditioning and years of training.
Instinctive Combat State
Some martial artists eventually reach a state where their body reacts faster than conscious thought. In this condition, movements become fluid and natural, allowing the fighter to dodge and counter attacks almost automatically.
Lucia possesses an early form of such a state, created through her internal Ki control.
This ability can be considered an imitation of Ultra Instinct, where the body acts on pure instinct rather than deliberate decision.
At its current stage, this state is unstable and only activates briefly during intense combat situations.
Lucia's Unique Condition
Unlike most people in this world, Lucia's abilities come from several different sources.
Her body possesses characteristics similar to Lucia: Lotus, granting her exceptional combat potential. At the same time, she is capable of learning Ki-based martial techniques.
However, most of her power is currently dormant.
Her body is still adapting to the abilities contained within her soul, meaning she will need time, experience, and training before reaching her true strength.
