Chapter 31 - Chapter 41: The Massacre of Gladstone Village X

Bham!… Bham!… Bham!… Bham!… Large noises permeated the atmosphere of the forest. "Damn it!…" Bham!… Bham!… The sound slowly sped up in Rhythm as the trees close to the encampment shook along with the rhythm. James breathed out, calming himself down, holding his golden cross in the air. He swung his large golden cross with both his hands, causing a loud noise to resound through the forest. James stared silently as he finally placed the cross down in frustration. The source of his frustration was a black spiral in front of him. It was the entrance to the forest that the obscure creature had made. This forest was much more like a domain. The forest may be the beginning of the birth of a domain, but it bears no resemblance to one. --This is an actual domain… No … This is a mini domain. A cheap knock off--. The problem here is that domains can't be created by strongmen below the latter levels of kings. It should totally be impossible to create anything akin to that, being a marquis-level creature. --A space artifact imbued into a forest?-- James frowned.

"Having a hard time, James?" a familiar voice echoes through the forest. James' hair standing on edge, he then breathed out. "I really… really… thought… You were dead." James closed his eyes in a form of acceptance, acceptance that someone he wanted to be so dead wasn't dead-- Do I have to kill everyone myself now? Damn, I made a wish to a certain bearded old man in red clothing. Isn't it that time of the year yet?-- James thought as he looked upwards, as if waiting for a sign of confirmation to his thoughts. -- I knew he was a myth. I win this time, Paulio. Suck that.--  James observed the black spiraling whole with a longing expression. "I don't have the time, Sebastian". James said as he clenched his fist, drawing it backwards. Golden light began to converge on all parts of his arm, his hands turning to complete gold, as he threw a punch at the black spiral.

"Need help?". Sebastian asked his form a complete dark shadow, a dark red aura clothing his very being, his eyes glowed a dark purple depth.

"Hey Sebastian, you talk of trying to help me, so why can I feel a large wave of killing intent from you?" James turned slowly to Sebastian. James widened his eyes as a large phantom of a fist appeared inches from his face. The first seemed to have a similar energy as that of the black spiral. A spiral formed on Sebastian's fist. The spiral began to turn violently, seemingly drawing space into it by moments of subtle pulls. James panicked as he hurriedly threw a punch, a normal basic punch. --A space-based ability?!-- James' face darkened. "Where the hell did you get this, Sebastian? That's new," James said with pure excitement on his face. -- There were no space abilities in his files. It's either he hid very well or He is the same as Lily-- James Narrowed his eyes as he watched Sebastian's current form. --I am guessing it is the latter-- James and Sebastian's fists collided, causing waves everywhere, the purple atmosphere clearing instantly. James gritted his teeth; his normal punch was supposed to be enough to kill Sebastian--I guess my hunch was right. He has grown stronger.--

James' eyes glowed brightly, causing yellow marks to connect from his eyes to his arm. His right arm turned a total gold, causing subtle light to glow from it, the purple theme now replaced by a yellow and black atmosphere. James had absolute certainty that their clash would end up in his victory, after all, James was Baron-level and Sebastian was a Pseudo Baron. --Unless...-- James gritted his teeth, finding it impossible that Sebastian was to counter him, even though he used a tiny bit of mana. James' arm began to glow brightly, slowly overpowering Sebastian. James released a smile as he felt the weight shifting. As James' arm gathered more mana, cracks appeared on his golden arm, slowly spreading throughout his arm, shattering his golden arm. James's eyes widen in surprise as he feels his mana disappear. His arm, now normal flesh, got pushed back slowly, began to twist. His arm twisted completely, blood and bones falling out of the twisted arm, His veins completely flaying out of his arm. Sebastian, seeing the advantage, smiled, his eyes glowing an even darker, striking James on his chest right where his heart was. James' eyes widened, spitting blood out of his mouth. Blood trickled down Sebastian's arm as he raised James into the air. "James… Oh, James... I didn't think you did die so easily". Sebastian laughed hysterically, his smile growing more inhumane each second. His eyes began to bulge, popping out unnaturally; he looked something akin to the cook. Atop Sebastian's head, a figure similar in shape to what looked like an elf appeared, a phantom's hand having threads connected to the hysterical James. Blood flowing from James' eyes and ears, a soft smile appeared on its face.

Boom!… Boom!… Boom!… Huff! Huff! Huff!, In a world of infinite void of darkness, flashes and sparks unsettle that void as two figures clashes, one a human, another a monster. A dark-haired man was leaning on a dim glass sword, one knee on the ground. Bullets of sweat formed on his forehead as he watched in exhaustion the monstrosity in front of him. A monster that looked like a giant human caterpillar stood before him. The human caterpillar had half its body, showing the resemblance and grace of a familiar pregnant woman. The woman still looked pregnant, her stomach bulging unnaturally, subtle twitches causing her to scream, writhe, and roar in pain. Her lower body was the form of a centipede, no, a caterpillar born from lumps of flesh, yes. Her lower body was just lumps of bloody, chilling lumps of flesh. Faces of people forming on its body. Its large form spreads into the void, seemly no end to the expanse of its lower half. What caught his attention was the arms and legs flowing out of the lower half. Arms of different shapes and sizes, all connected from her torso to the rest of her body. --Those limbs are a lot for just the members of the camp. It looks like the villagers are already dead. -- The dark-haired man smiled wearily. --It seems all my efforts are for naught, huh-- The man smiled solemnly as he watched the monster in front of him, light glass glowing swords sticking to all parts of its body. The monster wiggled itself, howling in pain, trying to get the swords out of its body.

"Damn it," The dark-haired man cursed.
