SILVER PRINCESS đ„č
The sun had set yet again in the evening sky, watched by those vigilant sharp green eyes.
Those wonderful eyes belonged to the sixteen years old beauty, Sisi who was staring interestedly at it from her fragrant garden.
She was nestled on the floor of the fragrant garden-comfortably-which was covered with neatly trimmed carpet grass.
She sighed as the sun went down cause she would miss this, watching the sun.
She did it everyday, around this time.
It was her favourite part of her routine.
After the beautiful orange and crimson hue disappeared into the horizon, she stood.
She whistled softly as she went about with picking the last of the blue roses which she added to her large basket.
She turned to stared one last time at the last light of the day before turning away.
The walk back to her home situated in the mountains was quiet and lovely.
The cool evening breeze bathed her skin, messing with her ox blood hair.
Suddenly, the hairs at the back of her neck stood on airs, noting something.
She knew that feeling, the one of being followed about or being watched.
But, there was no one in the mountains except for her and her caretaker.
It was probably just an animal.
But no matter what, she couldn't shake off the feeling which worsened with each step that she took towards home.
Finally, she paused for a moment.
She crouched lightly, pretending to arrange her flower basket to watch the area.
There was no one like she had predicted, so she shrugged and then continued.
Still, she had that feeling.
She was quick to drop the basket, the blue rose toppling out, and wield her spear.
'Show yourself,' she demanded.
There was instant silence as if the forest was cooperating with her on this.
She watched her surroundings, observing with sharp emerald eyes, alert.
Her lengthy ox-blood hair flew around her face, blown by the wind.
Her eyes searched every possible inch, all of her five senses working together.
"I know where you are," she warned in a voice that could give chills.
She circled her basket.
"Reveal yourself and live. Or-"
A soft laugh came from the bushes and every nerve in her body stood on end.
Her head snapped towards it.
"No matter what, I do not choose or."
She moved, to attack.
But, she was startled as a tall imposing but very familiar figure stepped out of the shadows
'It's only I silver princess.'
She relaxed her stance on her weapon, slightly as she glared at him.
'Stop putting me on edge every chance you fucking get!' she yelled at the man.
He chuckled softly.
Her fists tightened over the iron rod of her spear, knuckles going pale.
She was caught between the decision to stab him or strangle him.
At least he wouldn't be making those laughter sounds either way.
'Sadly, those are part of your lessons milady,' he said with a shit eating grin.
It irritated her.
She rolled her eyes at him.
"You are unbelievable."
He scoffed.
'Since when did you know I was following you?' he asked her.
She shrugged.
'From the gardens,' she spat.
He tilted a brow at her.
'Good. Your skills are getting better,' he told, stepping forward, towards her.
She stood unmoving, watching him with a mix of anger and contempt.
He ignored her stare, going past her and helping her to pick her basket of roses.
"Beautiful flowers."
She made a tsk sound.
"Thanks for the compliment, and yes, I grew them in my mountain garden."
He grimaced.
"I didn't need that information."
She glared at him.
"Maybe you'll need my spear, buried at least six inches up your asshole."
He made a breathless "o" sound with his mouth, eyes wide in shock.
"What?" She asked him.
He shook his head.
He started arranging the flowers in her basket possibly out of shock.
She hissed softly.
He was so unbelievable.
When he was done, he looked up, stretching the basket out for her to take it.
She didn't move.
He realized she didn't want it back and he was going to have to bear that burden.
Him, a big ole warrior, carrying around a basket of blue roses like a romantic?
Well, it wasn't as if he could say no to her though, not with her status.
"Why are you here?" She finally asked the important questions.
He swallowed, and then he cleared his throat lightly before he spoke.
'Your grandfather awaits you,' he said.
Her eyes grew wide.
"Really?"
He nodded.
Her lips moved, curving into a bold smile with all teeth as she perked up.
Her entire face lit up.
'He's here?'
'Yes milady.'
She turned and began to run down the rocky valley to their hidden cave home.
He tried to go after her, but she was way faster that him, moving sleekly.
She covered distance he couldn't dream of in battle in the blink of an eye.
He just gave up and decided to trudge along behind with the flowers.
The wind whipped her hair everywhere as she ran, covering her face sometimes.
But, she moved with muscle memory.
The home gradually came into sight the more she ran until she was there.
The two figures outside the terrace warmed her heart in a way that no one could.
Her pace instantly increased.
She ran past the woman standing there and into the arms of her grandfather.
He caught her easily.
'Sisi,' her grandfather said to her with glee, embracing her tightly.
The hug lasted a while.
Warmth seeped from the connection and entered deep into her soul.
'Grandfather, I missed you gallons,' she told him the moment she was stepping back.
He smiled down at her, removing stray hair from her face with his fingers.
'I am sure you did cause I did miss you too, thrice as much as you did,' he told her.
He winked at her.
She smiled.
'Where's Mooge? I sent him to fetch you.'
She scoffed.
'I hope a bear eats him,' she said with a snort.
Her grandfather instantly threw his head back and laughed in amusement.
'I don't think a bear can do that child, you know?" He said to her. "But what has he done to you now?' he asked her.
He rolled her eyes.
'He set me on edge, back there, following me around like an assassin. I nearly ruined my flowers because of him!'
His voice startled her slightly.
'You didn't milady.'
She turned to look at him.
A soft hiss rolled off her lips.
"Your flowers, here they are,' Mooge offered with a sweet smile.
She didn't buy it.
'I sent you to fetch her not upset her,' her grandfather scolded him.
He gave an apologetic bow.
'I did as you asked your highness. But, I could not resist testing her.'
Her grandfather's face slowly morphed, curiosity painting every corner.
'How's she?'
'Better everyday,' he told her grandfather with a smile.
He smirked proudly.
'Of course. She has my blood running in her veins. She must be,' he said.
She eyed them both.
How could they stand there discussing her as if she wasn't standing there?
It irked her.
'You're both in this together!' she accused them with a sulky face.
Her grandfather turned to her.
"'And to think I trusted you! I'll have nothing to do with you anymore.'
She turned away and went to embrace the woman she'd ran past earlier.
'I'll be friends with only Kaela,' she announced.
The woman laughed, patting her wild ox-blood hair tenderly with puppy eyes.
'We'll always be friends child,' she told her.
The others smiled nonchalantly.
'Why have you come anyways?' she asked coming out of the embrace.
Though she still clung to Karla, her arms wrapped around the woman's elbow.
"Let's go in," her grandfather said.
They all trooped in, the four of them: Mooge standing at the doorway to guard.
They waited until her grandfather had taken a seat and then they themselves sat down.
Sisi took the seat which was directly in front of him, staring at him expectantly.
"So?" She asked.
She was curious.
Why did he have to seat to tell her the reason he was there with her?
'I've come to fetch you.'
Her face wrinkled in confusion.
'To where?'
He hesitated.
She noticed that slight pause, reading some kind of meaning to the gesture.
'I think it is about time you go into the world Sisi and mingle with others,' he told her.
The look in his eyes along with his words and she didn't believe it one bit.
'You don't mean that grandfather,' was her unbelieving reply.
He gave her a do-I-look-like-I-lie look and her green eyes lit up in excitement.
Delight filled every corner of her at the realization and she began to scream excitedly.
'Lower your voice child,' Kaela said.
Her hands instantly flew up and over her mouth to muffle her screams.
She always did as she was told.
It took a while for her enthusiasm to die down and interest took over.
She wondered why he was doing this.
'Where will we go? Shall I stay with you in the Silver Kingdom?' she asked.
Her grandfather shook his head.
'No, you shouldn't.'
Her initial excitement died.
Creases marred her forehead.
'But why?'
He sighed softly.
He leaned forward, reaching for her right palm and placing them in his.
'Darling Sisi, you know that your identity must never be revealed,' he told her.
She frowned.
How could she forget that when she was reminded of it every waking minute of her life?
'But, I can stay in the Silver Kingdom and my
identity will not be revealed,' she protested.
He shook his head in refusal.
'No,' he said. 'Even if you can't Sisi, I can not ignore you. Besides, I can not risk anyone finding out our relationship.'
Her chest tightened.
Emotions forced against her chest, begging to burst through in waves.
But she held it in, the sadness.
'Then where shall I go?' she asked him with a sad face.
He smiled.
'I shall take you to Country C. You shall reside with my TRUSTED FRIEND whose name is LYNN BANE,' he informed her.
She took a moment to process the new.
And after she did, it didn't seem to bad either.
At least she would be able to finally leave this mountain space to somewhere else.
'What's he like? Lynn Bane,' she asked as her curiosity took over disappointment.
Her grandfather leaned back.
'Well, he is my 'adopted brother,' he explained, 'and he will treat you well Sisi.'
She noticed he spoke if him fondly.
They must be good friends.
'Where's Country C?' she asked. 'How far away is it? How long will I stay there?"
He made to speak but she interrupted.
"Will you stay with me? Shall my identity be safe out there? Shall I be free though?" she delivered without breaking.
Her grandfather chuckled.
'Woah, woah, easy now, child,' Kaela cautioned her tenderly.
'I don't know which to answer. But, you shall be safe there,' he managed to give her an answer through uncontrollable laughter.
She nodded.
But her eyes lit up suddenly.
'You will stay with me, or not?'
He hesitated.
He sure was hesitating a lot today.
'I shall visit you very often Sisi.'
She was sad.
But, she didn't complain.
It has always been like that.
Her, staying hidden.
And him? He saw her when he could.
Would having a normal life like other people do be too hard for her to ask?
She'll never know.
'Will Kaela stay with me?' she asked, looking at Kaela and then back to him.
'I'm afraid not Sisi. She shall return to the Silver Kingdom for you will have no use of her in the Bane's manor.'
Her eyes widened.
She would leave Kaela behind?
That was a no.
"Karla will come," she ordered.
Her voice was hard as steel.
Her grandad sighed.
"No, she won't, Sisi."
'But-' she broke off as tears pooled at the corner of her eyes, threatening to sprout.
