On the bustling construction site, Dwarf civilians were vigorously wielding shovels and pickaxes. Even though the weather had begun to cool, they still needed to occasionally wipe the sweat from their foreheads.
"Didn't they say the Tang Army was already held back... why are we still digging trenches in Furnace Fortress?" a Dwarf civilian asked breathlessly while shoveling dirt, turning to his companion.
The companion, busy working, glanced at the soldiers overseeing in the distance and lowered his voice to reply, "Can't you see it yourself? We've been duped by the lies on the radio! The Tang People are about to attack; Furnace Fortress isn't so safe anymore."
By now, almost everyone knew the fact that the Tang Army was closing in: deception could no longer be concealed, as hundreds of thousands of people were frantically constructing various defense installations in the suburbs.
