When an officer pushed open Felix's door, even the motion of looking up seemed somewhat sluggish. The face of this Elf Marshal appeared quite haggard; clearly, he had not rested well these past few days.
"What is it?" he asked in a voice full of exhaustion. In his words, one could hear no expectation at all.
He indeed had no expectations. In recent days, there had not been a single good piece of news. They repeatedly hit walls in front of the Tang Army, losing almost all battles they could lose.
The 5th Corps is retreating, as is the 7th Corps. Two entire corps are powerless in front of the enemy's approximate three to four divisions, making the battle feel utterly frustrating.
Sure enough, the officer delivering the news gave a wry smile as he handed over a new report: "Marshal, a message just came in. The 7th Corps' headquarters has been bombed, and the Tang Army launched a missile attack there. The 7th Corps commander and chief of staff have perished..."
