The missile flew in from the distance and struck the warship's bridge directly, a massive explosion engulfing the steel-welded tower, causing the tens of thousands of tons sea beast to emit a screeching sound of twisting steel.
On the side-facing turret, the enormous cannon that had just fired was being reloaded, while the densely-arrayed anti-aircraft guns were like decorations, showing not a hint of reaction to the incoming missile.
Although this battleship was launched just a few years ago, its technology is still too outdated: advanced for a battleship, but truly lagging for modern naval warfare.
The numerous anti-aircraft guns were pretty much useless against incoming anti-ship missiles; those gun barrels pointed skyward like a jungle could only bolster the morale of the sailors on the warship.
A battleship named with the Empire's name was enough to prove how much hope it carried. But indeed, it is already too old, old to the point where the future cannot be seen.
