Chapter 3 - Chapter 2

"Honey! I am home, honey! Where are you? Baby! Baby! Honey! Where has he gone to?" shouted Rogue.

"I'm in the kitchen dear," replied Kristine.

"Kitchen! What on earth are you doing in the kitchen?" asked Rogue and Kristine responded, "I am you chef for today dear," and Rogue said, "oh really! I am absolutely impressed! Do you wish to turn my kitchen into a catastrophe?"

"Come on baby! I'm trying here!" Kristine said as he went to the lounge to meet Rogue, he hugged her and said, "Holy smokes! have you been swimming with your clothes?"

Rogue smirked and said, "No! I have been diving in your s.p.e.r.m imbecile!"

"Aahh! So the rain got the better of you huh?"

"Yes, I was waiting for the buses at the bus station."

"What happened to your car?" asked Kristine and Rogue answered, "it broke down and I had to go board a bus," and Kristine said, "OK! I will go to the garage tomorrow and buy you a new car,"

"No, that will not be necessary. I will take my car to the mechanic." Replied Rogue.

"Hmm! You really love your car hey!" said Kris and Rogue said, "of course!"

Rogue went upstairs to the bedroom to take a bath and change her clothes, "I'll be done by the time you get back!" shouted Kris.

He wanted to surprise his lovely wife and tell her about the Red Bull deal he had signed in the morning and the journalist job he had found for her. Kristine lit red small rose scented decorating candles and placed them on the dinner table; he also took rose pedals and spread them on the dinner table and on the floor around it.

"Him! Nice! I could make an excellent decorator."

Kristine boasted shamelessly as he smiled to himself. He then went outside to the garden and picked out a few mature white roses, he went back inside the house and put the flowers in a vase with water inside. Kristine breathed heavily and said,

"I think this would do!"

He set the plates on the dinner table then went to check on the meat in the oven.

"Hhm! Looks good," he said when he opened the oven door, "and smells good too."

He said after he sniffed the steam emerging from the meat. Then Kristine softly said to himself as he closed the oven door and stood up,

"I wonder if it tastes as good as it looks and smells."

"Honey! What happened to my clothes?"

Rogue shouted as she realized none of the clothes she owned were in the wardrobe.

"I had them taken out and new ones brought in, try them out, you will see, they are more fashionable and prettier than the previous ones." Replied Kristine and Rogue said, "You buffoon! What makes you think I am going to wear all this dresses, though they are pretty, I am not the dresses type of girl."

"Come on! Baby, you need to start trying out different things. Please wear the red one for dinner," said Kristine and Rogue said, "but its too long honey though it really is beautiful. I suppose I could wear it for you."

"Thank you!" answered Kristine.

"Alright! Now back to my work," he continued. He made the dessert, being very careful not to add a lot of sugar so as not to give his lovely wife cavities.

"Him! Maybe a dark chocolate mousse would do since it is not too sugary and has a little bitter taste.' Kristine said, deciding what to do.

He wanted it to be perfect. He opened the foodstuff cupboard and took out the ingredients he was going to use, and then he saw the vanilla essence and thought to himself,

"A vanilla essence might make a difference to the chocolate mousse and give it a unique taste," and he took it to try out his recipe.

Up there in the bedroom Rogue is trying as much as she can to make herself look very much appealing. She looked at the red dress again and said, 'this dress is just too long for my taste, anyway it doesn't matter as long as Kris is happy."

But is it really worth it to sacrifice your likes for someone. Is it love or just torture? Who knows? Love has proven itself to be quiet strange. Rogue sat down on her chest chair and looked in the mirror; she then began applying make-up on herself. She started with her eyelids and applied silver eyelid powder to them, then her eyelashes and applied mascara to them. Rogue went on to her eyebrows and lightly touched with dark eyebrow pencil, then also applied lip liner to the edges of her lips and put red lipstick on top, covering the whole part of her lips and lastly her face, she just applied baby-powder.

Rogue took off her knee-high gown and started applying skin cream lotion on her body, then looked at the dress again, her mind still against the idea of wearing it. She shook her head to get the thought out of her mind. For the sake of Kris, for the sake of Kris, she kept reciting these words in her head. She took the dress and wore it, and then she looked at herself in the wall mirror to see how she looked.

"It is really pretty, simple pattern but very elegant," Rogue said.

She opened the wardrobe to look for shoes and my! My! How beautiful the footwear was, she did not know which shoes to pick, they were all so amazing but she decided the silver heels would do. She then put them on, tightly securing the straps, all the while admiring how shinny they looked. she went on to the mirror again and her mind was made up that she was good to go.

Down there in the kitchen, Kristine was pretty much done with making dinner. Everything was all set on the dinner table; it all fitted so well together and looked so perfect.

'Will Rogue love all this' was a question running through his thoughts. But he tried not to worry too much and prepare how he was going to tell the news to her. The first words to come into his mind was; 'baby I have great news to tell you.' But he wanted something unique not the usual; I have great news. Though what was he to say, he wanted to say it in Spanish but he did not know it very well. Rogue had tried to teach him but his ability to learn new languages was simply appalling.

Rogue came down the stairs, grabbing her dress at the waist so as lifting it up a bit to prevent her from falling. Kristine starred at the enchanting creature in front of him for a moment then said, "Wow!! You look incredibly beautiful!"

"Thank you!"

Rogue flashed him her thousand watts smile which drove Kristine insane.

"You have quite a really beautiful smile," Kristine commented. "Okay! I think that's it for the day. Alright, you can stop flattering me with such sweet words otherwise I might start thinking you did something wrong." Rogue complained.

Kristine chuckled quietly turned back to the dinner table and pulled out a chair for Rogue, "thank you!" Rogue accepted the treatment and sat down. Kristine dished for both of them then sat down to face his own plate. Moments later, he said to Rogue, "baby... I have great news, for the both of us."

Rogue looked up at him, "okay, I'm listening." She said.

Then Kristine said, "Remember that Red Bull deal I told you about?"

"Yeah I do," replied Rogue.

"I got it in the palm of my hand, right where I wanted it to be. And that's not all," Kristine paused for a moment and sipped his champagne, "I also got a very good job for you, as a journalist in Suarez Publications. I am sure you know it is the best-selling newspaper in California." He continued.

"Really! Wow! Congrats on the deal. I guess I'm the one unfortunate, a journalist... like seriously! Could you not get me a better job? You know I like writing, but not as a journalist. Could you not get me a job as a scriptwriter in some melodrama at least?"

Rogue sulked; tears were brimming in his eyes,

"Rogue I thought you would like the job," and Rogue busted into laughs, "are you kidding me? Did you just say 'like', baby, I love the job."

"Oh Rogue! My heart was already pounding faster than usual," Kristine sighed heavily.

"Wow! So something like that can actually get you scared, you are such a coward!" Rogue laughed.

Then Kristine asked Rogue, "So... are you okay with the job I got for you?"

"Yeah! It is fine for me," she replied.

"At least it is something; I am sick and tired of staying in the house with nothing to do. It would have been different if we had kids, but since we do not, it is another case."

And Kristine growled at her, "you know how much I am against the idea of having children, you do not have to keep bothering yourself by bringing up that topic."

Then Rogue sincerely apologized, "I am sorry, I will not mention that again."

Kristine had a rough childhood, his parents had abused him a lot and he grew up to believe that children were a source of suffering because his father always blamed him for their poverty. He always said that all the money they earned was spent on him. He didn't want to be poor and wretched like his parents, he couldn't let a mere child ruin all he worked for.
