The bridal suite was the kind of room that looked like it belonged in a glossy magazine spread, or perhaps in the penthouse level of an old-world European palace. Morning sunlight poured through floor-to-ceiling windows, spilling across a marble floor polished to a mirrored shine. The walls were soft ivory, crowned with intricate gold leaf mouldings, each swirl catching the light like molten sun. A crystal chandelier hung above the center of the room, its prisms scattering tiny rainbows onto the pale silk drapes that swayed gently from the balcony doors.

In one corner, Odette's wedding gown stood proudly on its mannequin, a sculpture of silk and lace that seemed to breathe in the morning air. A bouquet of creamy white peonies and blush garden roses sat on a nearby table, their scent mingling with the faint perfume of French linen sheets.
