Chapter 1 - Chapter 1: Prologue

Ignoring the corpses of both humans and aliens strewn across the street, a boy of about 10 years of age slinked through the streets of New York. Knowing in advance that this scene was going to occur, he risked ending the danger humanity faced in the future.

Having some experience of sneaking around unseen, he started to move towards one of the most striking towers in the city. In that place was his objective. One of the keys that will destroy half the lives in the entire universe.

He passed through the already destroyed windows at the base of the tower, noticing with each step the broken glass on the floor. Quick as can be, he stepped into one of the elevators and thumbed the button that would take him to the top floor.

One of the reasons he knew the elevator would work was because the building was powered by arc reactor power. A self-sufficient building with almost unlimited green energy. And by design to keep power in the tower, there wasn't a simple off button. The only way to 'turn it off' was to destroy the arc reactor. And that was almost impossible, Tony Stark had made sure of it.

While he was waiting in the elevator, he was trying to calm down. A part of her was screaming for him to get out of harm's way and that it wasn't her problem. But the other party was determined to stop the snap. He'd gone with a half-baked plan, and to be honest with himself, he never thought he'd go this far.

Closing his eyes, he began to think about his new life. "A new opportunity". The truth is that his previous life was shit, without dreams, without friends, without family, just with the aim of being able to survive and to be able to see the next tomorrow. In fact even in death he was ridiculous. He died at the age of 16, being robbed by a gang of six idiots from the neighborhood. They were going for his money, who was not carrying anything at the time, but they did not believe him and stabbed him right between the ribs by surprise, in the right part of his torso. He drowned in his own blood, lying face up in a red puddle surrounded by the bodies of the six idiots.

At least he took them with him to hell.

But he woke up, here, with a new life. And he got what he most longed for: a mother and a father. And he was determined to keep them alive at all costs. Especially knowing that there was an overdeveloped raisin threatening the world he lived in, where his parents lived.

He was determined to get one of the stones, the easiest being the space infinity stone, or better known: the tesseract. The mind was on the scepter and he was sure he couldn't hide a fancy stick without being noticed. He knew he couldn't touch the bucket with his bare hands, so he was more or less prepared. He had brought a briefcase from his father with him, lining the inside with all kinds of junk, leaving just a hole more than enough for the tesseract to fit in and take it with him.

The briefcase was quite heavy, but it was still strong enough to carry and run with. He also carried thick metal tongs so he could place it in the briefcase.

He knew the portal was still open, so Dr. Selvig was still on the roof and Natasha hadn't closed it yet. This was perfect for him, he knew where the tesseract was. And it was only a matter of time to pick it up and slip away.

All he had to do was go down when he got to the top floor, take the stairs and get to the roof and wait for the perfect opportunity for him.

He was full of nerves, he had never had a mission like this, something that could change the universe itself. Something with tremendous power and a part that could destroy the universe itself.

He just had to calm down, take deep breaths and focus on the goal. If he failed, it was just one more life among all the deaths caused by the invasion, surely his parents would be heartbroken by his death, but surely they would get over it. But if he could complete his goal of stealing it, then he just had to figure out some way to destroy the space stone. But that is already a separate objective. For now he just had to focus on that damn shiny cube.

The boy's eyes widened with a determined look as the doors began to open on the top floor. It came the moment of truth. The goal: survive the future.

"Come on, you can do it Alex" I exhale through his mouth to calm down and cheer up a bit. "You just have to steal a bucket of shit, it can't be that hard"

"I just have to change the fate of the world"
