Chapter 1 - My thoughts on cliches and stuff

To start of this is my honest opinion on stuff I find interesting, but mostly on things that I dislike. Any and all debates, comments or criticism is encouraged and I would also like to hear others opinions on this as well. Since this is my first time writing I would also love to know how to improve my writing or make my rants more enjoyable. If you have anything to complain about novels or something interesting to say, it will be welcomed...So enough of that and let's just start of.

1. I don't like the troupe where the main character reincarnates and knows every single formula, technology and how to make them, and the one I find the most infuriating is when a dumb or normal hischool or college student, or what ever, doesn't matter knows the periodic table by heart.

to explain further I think it's stupid for every mc to know all the elements in the periodic table, be able to imagine them fusing or whatever, and know the atomic structure of every single molecule in the air, and then using that to create overpowered magic or technology. It's too unrealistic and brings me out of the world and makes me less inclined to read the story. Of course shooting giant fireballs, splitting mountains and harnessing the power of the sun is also very unrealistic and maybe more so but I think the thing that is different between them is that one is something we don't usually try to understand and just enjoy like moving mountains etc. because it fells so distant like humans believing in the middle ages that plagues were Gods sentence for all of humans sins, but knowing every molecule in the world brakes immersion because that something we can try to understand at least that's my opinion and it's already so long so I'll move on

2. The next thing I hate about novels is the overuse of the word perfect. Granted it's a stylistic choice but it indicates that there is nothing to be improved too that specific thing for example ,, I have perfected my drawing ability" but art can always be better, and it's very unrealistic and emersion breaking to say you have perfected something in a small amount of time no matter how small that thing is. I would suggest to use the word ,,master" or ,,mastered", because even if you are a master at something, that doesn't mean you have nowhere to improve your skills.

3. dumb mc's with no personality who has a harem of slaves, lolis, or big chested wooden planks who

flock around the main character like moths around a fire. it's not interesting, funny, realistic(granted in fantasy most things aren't) and most of all anoying

sure maybe the first or second time you read it, it might be fun to imagine yourself in that situation but when you see it for the 54th time in a ,, I was reborn and got the most overpowered cheat skils/system/cultivation technique/attribute/affinity etc" type novel it gets anoying at how stupid the characters are.

4.lolis, are you serious... sure children are cute, but why do you have to write them with no personality as if there a cardboard box, who just so happens to fall in love with this middle aged guy who fapped 27 times and died. it makes me disappointed and discusted, I'm sorry but I hate lolis for this.

5. why does it always have to be GIRLS. Our mc only encounters girls who flock to him like baby ducklings after their mother, and most of the time they join his harem no matter what he does. And if he does meet a guy then he's unimportant, a villain or doesn't take much screen time.

6. Slaves *sigh*... why does our mc go to the slave market to buy himself a worker/fighter but comes out with a big chested peace of cardboard or a ,,cute" Loli. I'm not trying to be sexsist but why is it always a female slave he vows to save but always end up just making them part of his harem

And for know I think that's enough complaining for now let's say some cliches I like

...

...

...

...

...

ok to be honest it's not about the cliches, eventually every story will have/become cliches but what you do with those cliches makes the story interesting.

Some advice for writers, don't spell everything to the readers, we aren't mindless big chested cardboard cutouts, we can think ourselves, and if some of us don't understand, others can just explain in the comments, also if you want to have more depth in your story or characters, make them have flaws, and not things like ,,ohh she is super powerfull but is a tsundere" ( there aren't enough male tsundere) but make them have weaknesses that they can't imedietly eliminate the next chapter or ever, or even make them experience some trauma and after healing don't make them go back to being the same character but have them have some leftover scars that might not ever heal or need a lot of time.

In conclusion don't fall for the trap of I'll write this character as my favorite cliche but not add any depth to them.

Thank you for reading my rant and I'll be waiting for comments.
