Chapter 11 - Chapter 11

TW: Curse words, Forced coming out

*****************************

CLASSROOM B

I want to say something, anything to ease the tension, but I know it's not my business. For some reason, I felt guilty. I knew about them, a secret I promised to keep.

Max is still beside me, processing everything with scrunched eyebrows.

"So you ended things with me, because of him? Him?! Over me?"

She spat bitterly at Sanya, pointing at Tome behind. Tome flinched, eye closing at the words directed at him. His eyes were on the verge of tears.

"Sarah, please stop behaving this way"

He pleaded, arm stretched out towards her. She pushed his hands away before they made contact.

"Don't fucking touch me, or so help me, I will rain thunderbolts into this class," Her eyes dared him to attempt it.

"Sarah, I'm sorry"

"Not a word from you, Tome. Not a word", Her venomous words shut him up instantly.

A voice echoes through the air,

"Sarah Mills, Sanya Knot and Tome Ming, Your attention is needed at The Dome."

The intercom goes silent after the announcement.

Groaning in defeat, Sarah storms out of the classroom. But, not before shooting glares at both boys. The storm softened as she went further away.

Sanya let out a frustrated sigh as Tome placed a comforting hand on his shoulder. Together, they made their way in the direction the redhead had gone.

"Well, that was something. Who would have thought? Sanya and Tome"

Bri leans back into her seat, amusement clear on her face. Slowly, we got seated, forming a sort of irregular circle. I found myself still thinking about the horrible reveal that just happened, worried for the boys. Noticing my distracted look, Max lightly bumped me, questioning me with her eyes.

"I knew about them. I mean Sanya and Tome." I whispered to her. Her head tilted in curiosity. Her eyes tell me to continue.

"I can't really give details about that. I promised them."

My pleading eyes stopped her from pressing further. Even if the secret about them being together was out, I have no right to talk about that day. I shouldn't even have peeped at them.

"I'm worried about them, Max. What if everyone hates them because they are two boys in love? I don't know how accepting the world is now." I ask nervously.

They seemed really worried about coming out. Were they afraid of not being accepted?

"Love is Love. The world has evolved past that. I mean I'm nearly Ace. Correct?"

She turns towards the group for affirmation.

"Ariel, I'm pretty sure they were more worried about Sarah finding out. You see yourself how she can be. Scary. I wouldn't want to mess with the Storm Queen."

Bri fake shivers in fear. Ran her hands through her pixie cut as she let out a light giggle.

"Sarah can be quite reactive."

"I think the word you are looking for is unstable, Hannah", Bri interrupted.

"Even before she gained her ability. I think it would have been better if they told her though, right bunny?"

Hannah says, turning to the male seated on the table behind her. He had her back leaning into the crevice of his thighs, playing with the locks of her hair. Nodding, he acknowledged her question. At his response, she gave his thigh a little neck hug.

"Can you two not be disgustingly romantic for once? I'm trying to not throw up in my mouth"

Bri made sounds of vomiting which got everyone laughing, even Senza let out a quiet chuckle.

I slowly forgot about my worries as the conversation moved to other topics. Bri constantly teases Hannah, Hannah reacts animatedly, Senza being his usual quiet self and Max lost in her book.

All of a sudden, I felt a presence beside me. The group gradually got silent as they noticed the intruder. My eyes widened as my eyes fell on the person in my close space. His hands reach behind to scratch his head while shifting his balance from one foot to the other.

His V-neck sweater vest partially covered a white polo shirt untucked out of his pants. However, I shouldn't spend too much time surveying him. He breaks the tension with his nervous words.

"Ariel, how are you do–"

"I want to believe you have started the project"

His words were cut off by the curt statement. Everyone's eyes turned to the owner of the voice.

In two steps, Trent was standing in front of me. His presence exuded authority, eyes impatient at my lack of response. His rolled-up sleeves highlighted his toned, veiny arms as he held a bunch of papers in one hand, the other in his pockets. For a brief moment, I forget about Samuel. My eyes are drowning in his icy grey.

After taking a moment to think of what to do, I turn to Samuel.

"Can we talk later? I really need to attend to this"

I said simply, pursing my lips. He nods, looking somewhat dejected.

"Pathetic"

Trent scoffs under his breath before storming off.

Just when I think he can't get any meaner, he proves me wrong. Shooting everyone an apologetic look, I leave in pursuit of Trent.

SOMEWHERE IN THE CLASSROOM BUILDING

"Will it kill you to communicate like a normal human being?"

I almost scream at him. Ignoring my words, he keeps walking away.

Angrily, I grab onto his hand, pulling him to a stop. He flings my hand off his as if he was burned by something hot.

"Don't ever touch me again, you hear me?", He growled, pointing his finger in my face.

"Fine! I don't even want to have anything to do with you. If not for this stupid assignment! You are such a terrible human being!"

I felt my entire blood boil with anger. Suddenly, I remembered what he whispered. The flare of bubbling anger exploded into a flaming rage. His narrowed eyes swirling with emotions I couldn't decipher, chest heaving as my words soaked into him. He just watched me as I hurled my words at him.

"Pathetic?! PATHETIC? Is that what you see me as? Shit! Fu– shit! I can't even curse at you."

I yelled at him, my voice lowering towards the end. Tears flowed down my cheeks. Reaching out to wipe them away, I took a deep breath. Why did I allow his words to affect me this much? I felt so weak and drained emotionally from my outburst.

"Why do I even bother?", I scoffed.

Hurt flashed in his eyes. Trent turned away, looking towards the ceiling. He couldn't bear to look at me anymore. I painfully wiped my hands across my pleated skirt. Before reaching out towards him, gesturing for the papers in his hands. His eyes followed my gesture, looking from my open palm to my glossy eyes.

I felt my body engulfed in a pair of arms. A hand pulling my head into an embrace broke my trance. His arm snaked around my waist, bringing me to his chest as he steadied us. I found myself softening into his embrace. For a brief moment, my heart fluttered but I refrained from returning the hug.

As quickly as the hug happened, he pulled me away from him. A look of realization dawns on his face. Managing to avoid my eyes as much as possible, he places the papers in my hands.

"Hmm... That's...that's my part. Don't mess it up"

He took quick steps away in embarrassment. My eyes gazed at him until he disappeared from my sight, leaving me standing confused. The feel of his hands still lingering on my skin. How does he annoy me to bits but still manage to comfort me so deeply?

What on earth just happened?

Like and Comment or else, Elise will keep crying till the next episode

***********************************

Hello Chingus,

This episode was something right. I'm not really a fan of too much sadness, so I turned it down a notch.

However, it gets better from the next episode. Relationship progression!!!

Trent might be a bit of an ass-hat but it's a type. Hehe. He kinda has the personality of Hia Yi (cutie pie) but the temperament of Sound/Satang (my school president).

Elise, though, is giving me Mark's energy (Love mechanics). The constant crying.

Anyhoo, don't forget to leave a like and comment.

Stay healthy and drink water lovelies
