It's midnight and all the preparation for the wedding has been made. All the guests had arrived and were already seated in their seats. The groom was already waiting at the altar, all that was left was the bride who was still getting ready in her room.
'For a girl the most important day of her life is her wedding day. she always dreams of how her wedding would be like, how her husband would take her hands in his and say the words I do to each other which would forever bound them together, forever. But in my case it's a nightmare'.These where the thoughts going through Aggie's mind as she laughed at her predicament.
Agatha was born with silver hair and grey eyes which were akin to the moon. Her mother, Mia, was a maid who was captured by the king's soldiers when they attacked her kingdom. They took her and the other captives back to their kingdom where King Stephan ruled. The king quickly got captivated by her beauty and ask his guards to bring her to his sleeping chamber. She was scared for she didn't know why the king sent for her but what the king said turned that fear into shock,"I want you to spend the night with me and in return I will grant you your freedom". This was a chance for her to get back her freedom and return to her family but it came at a price. She thought about it for a while and turned the king's proposal down for she couldn't defile her her body in the course of her being freed.The king was angered by her answer and said, "If you won't give me your body willingly then I'll take it by force". With that he pounced on her and pushed her unto the bed. She screamed try to see if anyone would come to her rescue but nobody came. She could hear the guards who brought her there outside the king's room but none of them came in. They could hear her screams and pleas for help but they all laughed at the thought of her thinking they would help her. she dug her nails into his back, she kept scratching at his back but he didn't let go. All her attempts to escape me prove futile that she eventually stop trying to escape and the fact that she was being raped.
Mia cried her eyes out. She was traumatized by the king's actions. She never thought that she would get raped,not once in her entire life. sometime passed and she realized that she was pregnant. She deeply in thought whether to tell the king or not.She gathered all her courage and walked towards the king's room.
She got to the king's door and all the courage she summoned disappeared. She was scared again,'what if he doesn't accept the child growing inside of me?. But then again what if he did'.
She took a deep breath and knocked on the door. When she the sign for her to come in she opened the door and there stood the king.He looked more ferocious that before. Mia felt herself shaking as visions of that night came rushing through her mind.She closed her eyes and shook those images out of her mind as she walked towards him. "I have something to tell you".
"Go ahead ahead and make it fast,I have something to attend to".The King said not caring about what she wanted to say.
Mia took a deep breath and said"I'm pregnant"
.The King gave a shocked expression and stood up from where he was seated. "You're pregnant?".Mia nodded her head in affirmative. The king walked towards the door and Opened it to check if anyone was eavesdropping. He closed the door and walked towards her. He held unto her shoulder and Mia at the tightness of the hold.
"No one must hear about this. Infact you're going to abort this pregnancy".
"WHAT!!!".Mia said in a state of shock."You're asking me to kill an innocent baby even before it is even born".
"I'm not asking you I'm ordering you".The King said as shook both her shoulders.
" Sorry your highness I just can't bring myself to get an abortion"
" Then be prepared to raise this thing your self " .He said pointing at her stomach." Cause I'm not taking responsibility for it ".He said as he pushed her aside and left the room leaving Mia totally dumbstruck. She fell to the ground crying. She raised her hands to touch her stomach, "I can't get you aborted, I just can't. I'll raise you all on my own and no one will take you away from me". She stood up, wiped away her tears and walked out of the king's room determined to take care of her child even when it's so called father doesn't want to.
Soon everyone in the kingdom knew about her pregnancy and criticized her decision to take care of her illegitimate child. She didn't care about what they said as long as her child was with her she was happy.
Months passed and the day of her delivery came. Mia was trying as hard as possible to push the baby out but it was easier said than done. She was panting and sweating as she kept pushing at the Midwife's command and with one final push the baby was out.
Mia laid back down on the bed as she was exhausted. She was happy that she finally gave birth to her child after all the hardship she had to face.She cried tears not of sadness but happiness because all the hardship had ended.
Unbeknownst to her that this was the beginning of a nightmare.
