Chapter 295 - 295 - XLVIII

She ran to the boy and grabbed him. The girl buried her head in his chest and began to cry as she thanked him for being there.

"Thank you for being here, please don't go," she said, surprising the boy. 

"You really can surprise me," he said with a smile on his face. Running his hand through the girl's pink hair, he began to make her feel comfortable. The two of them continued like this for a few more minutes until she finally stopped crying and ran to the cookie jar.

"I'm hungry..." she said as she dried her tears and put more cookies in her mouth.

"Don't go too fast, you'll choke," he said, laughing at the way she was devouring the delicious cookies.

The days in Phthonia were much quieter than in Berohog. As much as Envy complained about how the city's army hated her, it didn't seem to be as much of a problem as it had been in Berohog. Most of Ryan's waking hours were spent eating candy and talking to the girl, who seemed to have a serious abandonment problem.
