Chapter 239 - True Light

"Do you know what light is, kid?" spoke the blurry figure standing near the cliff of the hill, gazing down at the beautiful nightscape of the little town ahead, all lit beautifully with celebratory lights, houses, and street lamps.

"Uh... electromagnetic radiation?" the boy responded hesitantly.

"Gah, no, not *that* shit, kid... I mean light when there is darkness. Hope when there is despair. Good where there is evil. In this world of ours, what is light? We are but moths, each chasing their own light. And when one goes out, they chase another. Tell me, kid, what is your light?" The blurry figure continued, his tone frantic and full of excitement as he vigorously shook the boy.

"Uh..." the boy stammered.

"Whatever it is, doesn't matter!" said the scientist before the boy could reply. "Today I will show you light. I will show you the true light! Light in its truest form—the purest, the real, the original light. You wanna know what that is, Novaleas? Wanna know?"
