Amany, Bella, and Irina were seated around the dining table; the meal had been served, and they were now eating quietly.
Wine accompanied the meal, though Bella simply watched while drinking orange juice.
Irina cut several pieces of meat and distributed them between Bella and Amany.
"If you want anything else to eat, just let Dominica or someone from the kitchen know, and we'll arrange it... Is your nausea any better?" she asked, looking at Bella.
The woman simply nodded; the food was delicious, but it seemed like the sort of light fare one would prepare for a sick person.
Bella wiped her mouth and gently touched Amany's hand.
"What do you plan to do now?"
Amany let out a sigh, glancing back and forth between her two girlfriends as she relaxed her posture.
"I don't know; canceling my contract has to be the first step..."
Amany was especially tired—tired of seeing her career being completely thrown away.
